It seems to me that this song is from the point of view of a person in an abusive relationship.
She is constantly being told what to do -"What? Damn, you’re right!"
She's being "crucified" for doing what her partner tells her is wrong-"Wounds are bleeding in my hands".
She feels it's her own fault for staying with him-" This self made decline".
She feels so useless and hopeless that she can't see a future worth anything anymore-"Fragile my crystal ball shattered on the ground"
The title refers to her state of mind as she is drove into hopelessness by constantly being watched and told she's no good. |

My personal view of this song is that it is about creating a world for yourself and just going through the motions of living. It's about how you should look in a mirror and confront yourself. Maybe how you've wrecked everything, how you are all alone. Instead of looking at your flaws you just go into denial. It's about waking up and realising you aren't the person you want to be.
I like the way the song speaks directly to the listener. It addresses everyone personally so you can bring your own experiences to it. It doesn't have a meaning, they're all right, drugs/philosophy/whatever.
It's beautiful. Listen to the song looking in the mirror. It gives it a whole new dimension. |

To me this song is about that moment at prom when you realise that though everything you've known is over, you have everything else to do and it's up to you what you become. It's that sort of feeling that makes you want to sing like no ones listening. It reminds me of waking up after my prom night, hungover but in a reflective mood. |

I always thought that this song was supposed to be sarcastic, like he loved this person and she seemed to make him better, but in the end she burned "a hole right through my heart". And now there's nothing much left of him and he's sort of looking for a fight. |

I think that the sea is a metaphor for her relationship which is sort of stormy cos the guys sorta dangerous, but she can't stay away. |
