Emiliana Torrini – Beggar's Prayer Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I believe the "I've got a bottle of your blood inside me" is a reference to wine, not being pregnant. She addresses the beginning of the verse to God ("Lord, you just dropped me here by the side of the road") and so I believe she means a bottle of Jesus' blood, e.g. wine turns to blood for communion. |
Greg Laswell – Take a Bow Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think the lyric is "Try and stay out of your head; I have seen you invent the damnedest things there." If you listen closely, it sounds far more like a 'd' than a 'b' and it makes more sense, too. |
My Chemical Romance – Vampire Money Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I really enjoy the references to David Bowie and Marc Bolan, two 70s glam rockers who actually looked pretty cool in glitter. I think the song sort of takes the piss out of what vampires have become because of the Twilight books (the references to driving a Volvo, etc). |
Lily Allen – Fuck You Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I'd just like to say that I think this is also partly about the Westboro Baptist Church. If you don't know who they are, they're a hate-spewing cult of morons who run the website godhatesfags.com. They picket the funerals of soldiers and gay people, as well as picketing other events such as gigs, political rallies, etc. that don't line up with their views. Her father, Keith did a documentary called Keith Allen Will Burn In Hell about the WBC. |
Fall Out Boy – 20 Dollar Nose Bleed Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Pretty positive that "Have you ever wanted to disappear and join a monastery, go out and preach on manic street?" is a reference to Richey Edwards of Manic Street Preachers, like other people have said. He disappeared in 1995 and is presumed dead as of 2008. Also, it's definitely not "preach young addicts straight." Listen CLOSELY, it doesn't sound a damn thing like that. I often think some of the people on this site don't have ears at all. Jesus christ. |
Emmy Rossum – Anymore Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The strings in this song are just gorgeous. Such a beautiful song. |
Iron & Wine – Sodom, South Georgia Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Sam said it was about the hypocrisy of racism at its core, but that it is a very ambiguous song and one that he enjoys most because of that fact. I don't think it's really meant to be figured out. |
Motion City Soundtrack – @!#?@! Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Thanks much, I'll fix it. |
Motion City Soundtrack – @!#?@! Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Awesome, thanks for your help. Hopefully, someone will figure out what that line is. |
Motion City Soundtrack – @!#?@! Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I got most of the lyrics, but if anyone has the bits I'm missing (because they were a little hard to interpret), let me know and I'll fix it. (: |
Mika – I See You Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think the lyrics are "Why go risking the way that I see you?" It makes more sense with the previous line. He sees the other person as lovely, and if they were cruel in rejecting him...well, he doesn't want to risk what he thinks of them. |
Ron Pope – The right way Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Some of these lyrics are wrong. |
Jon Mclaughlin – Amelia's Missing Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The lyric in the second verse is "I found lovers and I found leavers" not letters and levers. |
The Classic Crime – Abracadavers Lyrics | 14 years ago |
...meant to say 'religious' undertones. |
The Classic Crime – The Beginning (A Simple Seed) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
You guys are missing the 'holy ghost' reference - every time he gets close to feeling like everything is perfect or heavenly with her, he lets her go. |
The Classic Crime – Abracadavers Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Of course it has religions undertones. Straight from the Bible: "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14 |
The Classic Crime – 5805 Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Here, I've corrected your mistakes: Friends, I will keep you like trophies in my heart, to remember how loneliness was a faded dream on 219th street. We were more than just young, we were full of it. And no one could touch us, or take us in. Watching the sunset from the roof, we planned our next adventure. I was nineteen and young, thought I had it all figured out. The world was our oyster, and we dove in to get the pearl out. Now we are swimming in memories, how we wish we could go back. I've got a sneaking suspicion that hindsight only favours good vision, but I'm not one to complain when it's all I dream of. We were more than just useless and stupid kids, the music, it moved us, we shook our fists as we sang along at the top of our lungs. Now we are swimming in memories, how we wish we could go back. We hold the hope that someday we'll see the world again like that, like that, like that. Now we are swimming in memories, how we wish we could go back. We hold the hope that someday we'll see the world again like that, like that. Oh, like that, like that. |
The Kooks – Gap Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The photo is from a project that Flickr hosts every year called the "365 Project", which is a self-portrait/photo from every day of the year. This girl is just someone doing the project who titled her photo "Day 68 - I miss you, I need you, I do." And then below it in her description of the photo she says that the line is from Gap, one of her favorite songs by The Kooks, which I'm assuming is why they put it up on their site, because they thought it was sweet. |
My Chemical Romance – Helena Lyrics | 15 years ago |
JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW... "I have a lot of self-hate. The most recent example was the song Helena. It's a really angry open letter to MYSELF." - Gerard Way |
Fall Out Boy – America's Suitehearts Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It sounds like 'please' the first time he says it, but when you listen closely after the second verse, you can clearly hear the 'z', which would most likely make it blitz both times. And that definitely makes sense with the "down set one, hut hut, hike". |
Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song makes me cry unbelievably. I missed them so much, and they'll always be my little back-pocket babies. I'm so glad they're back, and this song makes me ridiculously nostalgic. It means everything to me. |
Rascal Flatts – It's Not Supposed to Go Like That Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Me too! It's so sad! D: |
Avenged Sevenfold – Until The End Lyrics | 15 years ago |
To be honest, I think it's more of a dedication song to the band, if you think about it. Talking about all the shit they've been through as friends and as a band, and how they'll always stay friends, no matter what may happen in the future. |
Holiday Parade – Slam Crunk Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Oh my God! I love this song so much. (: I think this is by far my favorite mashup ever. x] So good. So damn catchy. So Holiday Parade. |
30 Seconds to Mars – Stronger Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I have a recorded version of it. |
Hawthorne Heights – Sugar In The Engine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The song is obviously about Casey, as are a lot of the songs on the new record. The whole thing is just brilliant. I heard the CD about a week & a half before it came out, and I never heard the end of this upon my first listen. I finally just heard that part today and just...wow. It made me cry. I miss Casey so so so so so much. D: |
Forever the Sickest Kids – My Worst Nightmare Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i love this song. it's so catchy and amazing. i think it's pretty self-explanatory. |
Brand New – Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Actually, a lot of you are wrong. I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but the song is a reference to the conversation that takes place in the movie Rushmore between Max Fischer and Rosemary Cross. |
Avenged Sevenfold – Crossroads Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I adore this song. I think they probably didn't put it on the album, because it really doesn't have a place amongst the other songs. I think the whole album was put in that order for a reason, and they were right to release it as a B-side. Fantastic song, and it's pretty obvious what it means. |
Cute Is What We Aim For – Listen To This If You Love Me And You Are Bored It's Just Me Singing Off The Top Of My Head Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Ahh. Gotta love Shaant. |
Panic! at the Disco – We're So Starving Lyrics | 16 years ago |
danyellx, this song WILL be on the record; they said it will be. This is just a rough version, and it will be re-recorded when they go to London do start recording & mixing the album. |
Mayday Parade – Miserable at Best Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I adore this. My name's Katie & my boyfriend's got this on his myspace because we live so far away - opposite ends of the country, actually. And I'm always feeling shitty...and every time I go on his profile, I feel better. But this song's pretty self explanatory. |
Avenged Sevenfold – Scream Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I don't think this song is about rape. I actually think it seems very vampiric. Think about it from that perspective and read some of the lyrics. "I'll taste your blood tonight" "Scream while there's life left" "We've all had a time when we've lost control" "I'll hunt again one night" "Some live repressing their instinctive feelings" Sounds kinda like vamps to me. |
Punchline – The Fake, The Snake, And The Birthday Cake Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Your lyrics are wrong. These are what you need to change to. "Stop looking at the mess that we've made, and what the hell, let's have another night of making mistakes." "Hoping that we wouldn't cross paths like usually..." "Write it down, baby, don't forget..." Last line, "I'm not the only one that thinks you've changed." Aside from that, the song is pretty self-explanatory. And it's great song. |
American Diary – The Goodbye Celebration Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Oops, fixed. Thanks. |
Aiden – Teenage Queen Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Okay, so I did this by ear from Aiden's MySpace and I'm not sure if it's correct. But it seems mostly okay. Anyway, this song is absolutely beautiful. Seven days 'til the new CD; I'm fucking stoked. |
Bedlight for Blue Eyes – Whole Again Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song means a lot to me. I love it a LOT. The meaning is pretty clear, I think. |
Avril Lavigne – When You're Gone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Simple enough; it's for Deryck. |
Fall Out Boy – One and Only (feat. Timbaland) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Timbaland's second part in this song after he says AAH!...yeah, some of those lyrics ARE wrong. |
American Diary – Life Without Living Lyrics | 17 years ago |
That's what I wrote. |
Powerspace – Right On, Right Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
DressedToTheNines...first of all, I take it you're a Fall Out Boy fan, which makes you pretty radd. Secondly, I think it means that if whoever he's talking about will stay with him, he'll make it worth their while. And he'll keep every secret of their's to himself. |
Bleed the Dream – Vampires (Don't Kill For The Money) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Wow. This song is pure amazing. I love it so much. |
Bleed the Dream – Say G'night Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is amazing. It means a lot to me. I really can't explain why. I think it's a bit self-explanatory though. |
Between the Trees – The Way She Feels Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song's a true story about a girl called Renee, who's battled addiction and depression and her cutting. If you don't know the story, go to www.twloha.com and you can find it there. She's definitely one amazing girl. As per what happened and whatnot, the part about "mom and dad had no right", her parents took away the razor blades and knives in the house, and she ended up getting a knife from somewhere else. Basically, she ended up going to rehab, and she found God and etc, and she's doing a hell of a lot better now. She's definitely an inspiration. |
Too Sorry for Apologies – Seven Letters Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love this song a lot. It's kind of obvi. what it's about, but it's very pretty. |
Anberlin – Inevitable Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"We end up hurting the worst, the only ones we really love." God, this song is SO beautiful. It makes me start bawling everytime I hear it. I love it so much. Definitely nostalgc and full of memories. I love it. |
Bowling for Soup – High School Never Ends Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with Empathy; this song is amazing, I just hate the fact that it's true. |
Hedley – 'A' Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is truly gorgeous. Favorite lines are "she came in a box, I loved and I sold her"... and, "I turn my face to the rain to see you smiling again. Maybe there'll be no more pain the day we all go insane." This song is just beautiful. |
Framing Hanley – Alone In This Bed (Capeside) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Yeah, it is self-explanitory. I love this song. It's so pretty. |
Fall Out Boy – It's Hard to Say "I Do", When I Don't Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It's just your ears...it sounds like burial, but it's def. barrell. |
