This song is so stupid its not even funny... He links the president with the fact that he has a blue Lamborghini? He used that first line to gain attention and nothing more, the rest of the chorus is just listing colors with shit that all rappers talk about. This song is neither inspirational nor intelligent. Singing about cars, money and shoes is far from original in rap, in fact, its overdone.
Furthermore, claiming that a President "never did shit for me" is grotesquely ignorant.
In the video people are holding up sign saying the likes of Che Guevara! How does he have anything to do with this occasion at all? I guarantee you that the vast majority of those people, and all Americans for that matter, have no idea either how Che even was or what he stood for.
This whole song is mind-bogglingly stupid. |

No offense to anyone but I just find this song to be comical and kind of BS more than a soothing tribute... Two big reasons:
A) That fast tapping (kinda sketchy to begin with) has no place in this song whatsoever and it just seems so out of place that I laughed the first time I heard this song. The solo may have actually been with-standable until he starts busting out, playing way too fast than necessary for the melody of the song. Then he tweaks the last note, and the sound falls horribly flat, this solo would be absolutely fine in a faster more upbeat raging song, but its got no place here at all.
B) In music video is either supposed to be funny, or it's plain stupid, have you seen this? He is playing the piano (thats fine) but then he grabs a hatchet and starts smashing it up, then to top that off he lights a torch and burns it!
Maybe I'm missing the point here but I don't see how this song can be taken seriously. |

Just a few corrections:
Its " melt in the sun" as in
"who wants to come with me and melt in the sun."
and second it's
"all pathetic flag waving geeks"
and finally, at the end its
"It'll it show your mind that you 'have' a mind "
Aside from that its a pretty good post.
Song is probably paradying a politcial campaign, so to speak.
It's advertising for people:
"Come join the cause!" And its trying to pass off the other parties as "pathetic" and that their party will (with your help) beat em and humiliate em.
They are also trying to say that they are better as in they are hiding in the sky. |

This song is absolutly fantastic, the great slow building entrance. The lyric set, the fading out, the bone-chilling side effects in the middle. The resurgence from the middle "space" gap, the final verse. Then finally the closing fade to cap it off.
Echoes is flawless from start to finish, it just doesn't get much better than this... |

That lyric right there just sells the song by itself.
I find this to be one of the most fun Primus tracks to listen to, its just catchy and fun to sing-along to. God know how many times I've jammed to this in the car, making those around wonder what the hell is going on. |
