So, I don't listen to Beyonce on a regular basis. But today I was driving my mom's car on my way to check on my best friend, hoping she hadn't killed herself. Yesterday her fiance died in a car accident and she's been talking about killing herself. She had a dream about him last night, and told me that she didn't want to wake up to have to face the cold reality of him not being there. Listening to this song made me think of how she feels. I guess the song just fits the situation you're in at the time. "i mention you when i say my prayers i wrap you around all of my thoughts boy you are my temporary high i wish when i wake up you're there so wrap your arms around me for real and tell me you'll stay by my side..." & "tattoo your name across my heart so it will remain not even death can make us part what kind of dream is this?" anyway, that's my interpretation. "It's the reason I made you, it's the bond that we share You see we're all trying to endure You could easily go and make your own life somewhere Couldn't you?" when i hear this, it just sort of pisses me off. i know nobody has commented on this in over a year; but here goes. he knows exactly what he's doing, and he knows how its causing her to feel.. but he just won't stop. and in the end he's sort of mocking her. he knows he fucked up her life and that he took such a big part of her. "You could easily go and make your own life somewhere. Couldn't you?" when he knows good and well that she could not. |

haha. i listened to this on repeat for pretty much 3 hours last night. my friend had drank and even i had just a little, but not enough. and then she held my dates hand. so i went outside to cry because i hate when people see me cry. at the time this song made 100% sense. "If you see these tears filling my eyes, it's just the wind that makes me cry." that to me is just something you would say to someone if they saw you crying (ex: when you're crying during a sad movie and you say 'it's just allergies') but in this long comment, the story of my life, and my little description of the meaning.. i think it could be referenced to more than just lovers. anyone who hurts someone while they're drinking and the other person is sensitive but doesn't want that one person to know how bad they hurt. |
