It's cocaine...this guy did hella coke. The past doesn't exist because you never regret what's done when you're doing coke. He is definitely not talking about booze and weed. Sorry young 'uns there's a wide world out there and you can either choose to experience all of the highs and lows or else choose to live a healthy normal life. Pills and shots would possibly make him sleep, and kill the time until he could fall asleep. Without those he would just do more coke. The only way to really understand this song is to do coke. You can't understand drugs without binging. It's a fact. "a little repetitive"? Yes, just like the lifestyle. It's circular and it never goes anywhere. But it's damn fun while youre doing it. |

This guy was at the bottom of the barrel at the same time as he was at the top, that's commendable. What's crazy about the song is he never refutes that they were good times. Even when this guy was doin lines with gun-toting mexicans all night long, they were still good times. His creativity might have been intact without the drugs in his life but drugs inspire emotions whose strength is only paralleled by love. Drugs give you emotional highs and lows it's tough to say natural chemicals can do it when your brain cant produce that many chemicals without drugs. I've just fucked around a little with cocaine but for about a week after a coke binge it felt like I was approaching serious depression. No regrets though, that's why he never bad talks the good times, he just comments on how fucked up they are. |
