Drum beats and Guitar solos were magnificent. Jet Pilot was a real up tempo song mainly one of the reasons why I really liked Toxicity the Album. It had specia meanings as Pearl Harbour and they were raided by the Japanese. I'm not going to go in detail, but the reasons why this song had a special meaning was because he told another story about his horse Otis and why he was envolved when the war with Pearl Harbour collided in the bay. Jet Pilots were their main chance to beat the Japanese high and maintainence aircrafts. The Americans were in defecit, SOAD are giving us the ideas with what and how the one of the Jet Pilots, who had helped and saved America. The one who smiled and flew over the bay and protected to save their own people's lives......who too costed many other lives in order to protect their flag. |

This song's about how the fucking terrorist gets attacked, and how they attack homes, villages, schools and hospitals etc. He exagerates why we attack, and how the propaganda ruined people's lives. A good example was 9/11 where Osama and his group of men crashed their planes in the two towers. The Bush administration is a turd and cannot justify his actions to help the poor who suffered mass murders when the bombings and air raids began. Oh and btw Promiscuos means "Casual and unrestrained in sexual behaviour" in other terms sluttish. Slipknot gives raging music and no they ain't stupid at all I agree with that for sure, this has meaning but they can be proved being one-minded in most songs. And trust me Im not bashing Slipknot at all, Im saying they think and judge most of the time basing purely on themselves which can be hypocritical. Wow this thread just shows how narrow-minded people can be. I for one love Slipknot, ok just remember love not like. But people here can have their own opinions and even mine, whether it's good or bad that's another occasion. I wouldn't expect every single band's songs to be filled with fans, I would want opinion from either side. Being fair is what it is, but bashing a band for no particular reason is dumb too (unless the song is really bad), but otherwise I would defend my favourite band. Name callings and childish comebacks are inappropriate, people can be more civilzed with arguements or debates, so this song duality explains the pain of pushing a finger up to someone's eyes. Not sure who sung this, I think it was Corey Taylor who did, but anyway the song itself has many meanings to it. He's simply expressing pain and sorrow because he couldn't stand getting hurt either in a dream or reality. he wants to know for real, shit like this happens for a reason. He's tone and expression in this part of the song with the chorus is wonderful, it just shows how pissed off people can be. |

Persoanlly I don't give a shit about people using science as a development to improve technology, I care about it because like people said it heals the sick and give us knowledge that we can't figure out, just by guessing. Faith and religion is a very important thing in life, but in life generally not everything depends on science. Faith gives us hope and hope is where we need patience to have a belief in yourself. God gives us power too, and some of you's may disagree but our lives all have been made by the creation of god. This song is experimenting with our minds to say if ourselves are worthy to use the term 'science' and not get mixed with religion, partial elements of this song tells me science created human mankind and the animals, trees and rebirths surrounding us. SOAD tells us that believing in science is one thing but believing in god is saying the same thing with faith, except that god is a non existing living thing in our world, they say. Have you ever met or seen him, also how does science improve what the social possiblities of our existing nature come to. Does science tell us what predicting the future of earth help us to begin having more knowledge and give us the faith to believe what we believe in, you may think science is all just factual information but duh it tells us things we all need to know and how to fight the disease that spread all around us throughout the world for centuries and centuries. Basically the theme of the song is our mother earth, would our mother earth or god shall I say, to be happy in life, the answer to us according to them is no. Science failed the meaning of faith and the spirit moves through all things has deemed letting reigns go unfolding a non existing living part. |

I don't understand why everyone is honestly bashing this band, I thought they had talent and solos were I guess kinda good. The fact people say this song has no meanings or meanings in terms of life are arrogant and bullshit. Why does every song must envolve us or life, we envolve ourselve through pain, I had enough bullshit coming from people saying that this band is more 80's metal as well because they're the type of bands I thought gave excitement and motivation to us instead of same other bands who basically give us the same thing again and again. Their great enough using backup voices and talent through their tunes to operate a rock/metal band which is what they are and they are rare talent that I heard many times in other backup bands. The only thing I got against this band is their beats can be overused at times and don't backup with more power rhythms like other metal bands but so what, not all bands have to be the same they can revolutionise this way and still be considered with the top bands like AC/DC or Queen in the 80's. Oh and I don't give a rat's ass if people thought this video sucked which may be quite true but they have some electrifying rock music in this one and Beauty and the beast, plus their other older songs which which gave the same technique. The meaning is simple, love comes from beauty within yourself and in the feeling but the darker side is the side you want out. People respect and love but eventually they will die, course when you find love, love finds you that's the greatest feeling of all. Pretty much a romantic theme about it too. |

They are very political, for this instance I think he is saying the troops and armies do not need to multply because they might die in war and that making more people arrive in the US to fight for the army can cause serious harm with the nation by how when the terrible country get's attacked and people have to suffer through the war and all. I think the reason this is such a hit is because everything in the song was very realistic and Eminem showed his talent to put the scenario into test for letting his anger out on Kim before when she fucked him. Nevertheless I rate this song very highly and I recommend it, it does also bring back memories of Em, but I agree his songwriting skills and all sometimes feel like they are going unoticed and are pretty underrated. I actually think he is singing this for tennagers or anybody who eats and eats pizza pies all day. I think what he is saying is that now and then you see advertisements of pizza commercials and it clearly craves your hunger to eat more of it, So he says it causes therapy by watching it all the time and basically he eats it everytime it appears in the advertisements, because pizza pies in the US, British, European countries or even Australia has a lot of advertising about pizzas mostly and well he just asked if there is anything else left to buy apart from pizza pies. Clearly when he sings this he also sings the ingredients inside the pizza pie which is great putting it into lyrics, nonetheless it surely is a weird weird song but it's definitely one of my favourite SOAD songs. |
