The Beatles – The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"The children asked him if to kill was not a sin. Not when he looked so fierce, his mommy butted in. If looks could kill it would have been us Instead of him." I love these lines. In my opinion they are what then whole song is about. It sums up the US's policy when it comes to their wars. I think it's so brilliantly written. A child asks his mom why some people are allowed to kill and she says it like it's no big deal. The "bad" guy is dead. Be glad we were so good to kill him before he went bad and got you. It may be originally written about Vietnam, but it still applies in all wars US starts. It's only a matter of time before a new country is starting to look "fierce" and another war starts. Surely it could be about Richard Cooke III too. I just prefer to think there was a bit more thinking behind those lines. |
The Beatles – Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey Lyrics | 17 years ago |
John was very good at writing lyrics that could mean different things to different people. Even if the lyrics sometimes are nothing more than jibberish. I think sex. Maybe both sex and Yoko. Even though the idea about maharishi is on my mind to. But not herion, and not masturbation. That's not what I see. |
Suzanne Vega – Luka Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"They only hit until you cry And after that you don't ask why You just don't argue anymore" Seriously doubt that it's a child after these lines. My point of view is that Luka is a woman, and that her husband is out until late every night. When she asks why he won't tell and they start to fight about it. The fight always end the same way. [see quote] But that's just my personal opinion. I guess it could be about a child when you look at the other verses. |
John Lennon – How? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It's heartbreaking when he sings. "How can I have feelings when my feelings have always been denied?" It's just so true. |
Anna Ternheim – Better Be Lyrics | 17 years ago |

John Lennon – Imagine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is unbelievable. I know that its messege is an unrealistic dream, but I still like to imagine it. Lennon really knew how to put words together. He was a genious in my opinion. |
John Lennon – Imagine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
meanceprimeaux. You need to chill. The world is not black and white. There are no "evil" people. There are just people who believe in different things. Some believe in USA and some don't. Stop thinking that you are above the "other one". Stop thinking that you are better than anyone else, becouse you aren't. I'd say the same thing to the fuckers that destroyed world trade center and killed all those people, but they aren't here. Just imagine a world where noone thought they were right. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will live as one. |

Excalibur knows what he's talking about. I share his opinion in this matter. Great song |
The Beatles – Hello, Goodbye Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Come on. Why do people always need to compare artists? I say there is no sane person that can say that either Paul or John were better. They were/are both very talented and its a miracle that they ended up in the same band. The Beatles wouldn't be the Beatles without John, and the Beatles wouldn't ne the Beatles without Paul. |
John Lennon – Woman Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Incredible song. |
Bob Dylan – Like a Rolling Stone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Love the lines: "As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes And ask him do you want to make a deal?" and "You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceeeeeaaaal!" Dylan is a genious |
Bob Dylan – Like a Rolling Stone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ishotmrburns18 doesn't know what he is talking about. Don't pay him any attention, that's what he wants. Just look away and his comment will dissappear. |
John Lennon – Nobody Told Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Another one of Lennon's masterpieces. I agree with Peacefrog. This song is about people believing about things but never do anything about it. What do you think "There's a UFO over New York and I ain't too surprised." is about? Can't figure it out. |
Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with AllMyRivals. Great lyrics but the song isn't so good in a musical point of wiew in my opinion. |
The Beatles – Honey Pie Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Great song. Whenever I feel down and put on my White Album this song always cheers me up. I find that "When I'm Sixty-Four" from Sgt Pepper's... has the same effect. |
Dire Straits – Hand In Hand Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I find it strange that nobody has commented this song before. In my opinion this is one of the best love songs ever. Fighting with Romeo and Juliet about being the best Dire Straits love song. I just love: "Now you and me go parallel together and apart And you keep your perfect distance and it’s tearing at my heart" Knopfler is brilliant. |
The Beach Boys – Fun, Fun, Fun Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I like the little Chuck Berry tribute in the intro. Strange that nobody has commented this song before. Beach Boys was always good at singing in chords. |
The Beach Boys – I Get Around Lyrics | 18 years ago |

The George Baker Selection – Little Green Bag Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Dire Straits – Sultans Of Swing Lyrics | 19 years ago |
