If it is making fun of racism (which I've never seen before, but it is definitely an interesting thought), it would probably be the fact that all the animals are lumped together with certain characteristics. ALL monkeys are honest, ALL giraffes are insincere, etc. Maybe not overt racism, but I can definitely see it as a sort of mockery of stereotypes. |

Great protest song; I especially love the 4th verse ("Paranoia strikes deep ..."). Butteroll, I don't believe this is about the Kent St. massacre; that was in 1970, and I think this song came out before then. |

It seems to me that Patti Boyd must have been a very special woman. Not only was this song written about her, but so was "Layla" - two of the greatest songs of all time. |
