Such a sweet little love ditty. "There's no hurry I'm a patient man as you'll discover" Just makes my heart melt. Sweetness packaged up. Obviously though, a song that is meant to be a smash hit single to the deaf masses, so while it ties my emotions up, it really doesn't present me with anything to go "Wow" musically. |

I think it is about a relationship that is slowly falling apart. James (or whoever the main character is) still obviously loves the other person, but she is giving hints that she isn't into it anymore. But neither have said anything untill now. James can't handle seeing it fall apart any longer and so he "says what she won't say" and takes the blame for the relationship dying. You can tell he still loves her, cause she does it for her sake, to not make her feel trapped into something. Such a strange way to look at something. It is like they were both denying that the love has died when it has. James is quite emotional in this song, it is fairly powerful. The video has some powerful images too. <3 James |

This whole song has references to other songs and rock bands. Lonely Hearts Club band (The Beatles) Billy's Got a Gun (Def Leppard) Yoshimi (Flaming Lips) Darkness is a band as well (perhaps reason for capitalization) I agree with kInGancaptain... this sounds of him doing what he does for the music and not for the fame. Maybe others think he has sold out and moved on, but he is still doing it for himself. Maybe these bands he mentions in the songs are the same... people liked them and then turned away... but they still kept "dancing on their own". benie102... I really beg to differ about it having no soul. This song isn't about making the money, but the beauty of the music for himself... I'm sad that you cannot see what a beautiful lyricist this man is. |

Do you guys also notice that "Here We Go Again" is a song that James sang as well! I also love the line "So I could see clearly now the rain has gone" just like Johnny Nash's "I Can See Clearly Now" Great song... music video is awesome as well. Lots of feelings |

"Now Adam’s taking bombs and he’s stuck on his mom because that bitch keeps trying to make him pray. He’s with the hippy in the park combing over the dark just trying to get some of the little girl play." Ok... I am not generally a 'mind in the gutter' kinda person, but I can't seem to get it out of my head for this line: Adam's taking bombs or doing Drugs/Alcohol, and his mom wants to stop him through prayer perhaps, you can tell that the person doesn't like this fact, just from the swearing. Then after about the hippy in the park. Well this just makes me think about him hanging out with the drug dealer and stalking around a park at night to wait for someone to rape. "Little Girl Play" just makes me think pedophile for some reason, with a park being a place where children would play. What do other people think? I keep jamming along to the song, but when i get to that part i can't get the thought out of my mind. Do I have it totally wrong? |

Have any of you noticed how right after he says "So don't say a word", and then Matt on the drums makes the drums sound like a gunshot. I love that, just noticed it when i listened to it last. I'll be so excited when this becomes a single. this is an awesome album. |

I would have to dissagree with the latter part of Bravura's response. The Emperor's new clothes could mean he had nothing on, like the fairy tale, which would make sense on why he was so cold, though who really goes back to their house from an affair still naked? it could also be an allusion. From Wiki: "The expressions The Emperor's new clothes and The Emperor has no clothes are often used with allusion to Andersen's tale. Most frequently, the metaphor involves a situation wherein the overwhelming (usually unempowered) majority of observers willingly share in a collective ignorance of an obvious fact, despite individually recognizing the absurdity" This could tie in with the "Humour of the Situation" where the collective people are enjoying the humour of the situation, but it is actually rather absurd or wrong, which is why he got kicked out. Again, "Never felt so small" could be taken litterally as well. But I prefer to look at it, because he is thinking of all the chances he has missed, and all the times he could have been spending with his girl, but he just took her for granted and now she threw him out. So now he feels like he is insignificant because he is looked down upon and 'dissed' (definition of dissed: belittle, insult, show disrespect, so it makes sense) |

When I was in concert and he was singing this song it was awesome... my favorite song to begin with. it was really quite funny cause he made the audience do the dada dadaduhdaduh part over and over again, and then he kept just radomly throwing in "I'm out of my mi-nd" with his eyes all bugged out and creepy smile on, like he really was out of his mind. but anyways, in the concert at the end he kept repeating "I don't know what it means" or "even I don't know what it means" or somthing along those lines. Which is making reference to the song telling you to "hold his eye and see what it means". I thought i should post it, cause it kinda puts a spin on to it. That maybe he doesn't know where his life is heading, or why the music industry is treating him like this. It almost leaves it open to speculation, like if he doesn't know then who does? you know. Or that he is out of his mind and really doesn't want to think at all anymore. I dunno, just thought that it was interesting that he sang that in concert! |

wow... no one has commented on this one. well before i actually listend to the words this song i wasreally confused. but after really listening and looking at the lyircs, it has a lot of power to it. and the sad tone to it, like the piano, i just almost want to cry. I dunno, i can't really find very much under the lyrics. i am just wondering what the thank you note actually is? is it for the girl that is sick? or is it for someone else (like the girls crush). also when the guy is looking at the picture, maybe that is where he met the girl, but took her for granted, and now that she is dead he comes to realise the beauty and importance of her. and now these memories are just wasting away with the staleness of the bastment. i dunno! it is a well written song though |
