Radiohead – Idioteque Lyrics | 18 years ago |
its a three way conversation between 1) the people who insist that global warming is a serioius threat 2) the people who insist that its not as big a problem as we are led to believe 3) the people in the middle, who dont know which sideto believe "Who's in a bunker? Who's in a bunker? Women and children first And the children first And the children " said by (1), predicting what could happen if we continue the way we're going "I'll laugh until my head comes off" said by (2), saying its a load of shit "I have seen too much I haven't seen enough" said by (3), who is clearly confused and doesnt know who to believe "Ice age coming Ice age coming Let me hear both sides Let me hear both sides Let me hear both Ice age coming Ice age coming Throw it on the fire Throw it on the fire Throw it on the " said by (1) "We're not scaremongering This is really happening Happening We're not scaremongering This is really happening Happening Mobiles skwerking Mobiles chirping " also said by (1), saying that they are not trying to needlessly scare people but that this is a problem that needs to be addressed "Here I'm allowed Everything all of the time" this refers to the earth's resources, though im not sure who says. its most likely that its (2), who thinks there is plenty of natural resources and we dont need to worry that's what i think |
Radiohead – Reckoner Lyrics | 18 years ago |
these lyrics are totally different to the version i have thom played it solo for the "trade justice movement" and used the llyrics "give me a fair price, give me a fair price" repeatedly for the chorus, but given who he was playing for its likely he changed the lyrics just for the occasion |
The Strokes – Evening Sun Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"methinks the lyric is misquoted" no, the lyrics are not misquoted, they are taken from the album bookle. "I must say, though that it is rather naive of us to automatically think that anything that Julian writes is about Juliet" i am not automatically thinking that its about juliet....after some consideration, i have come to the opinion that the lyric "Oh you're the prettiest, smartest captain of the team I love you more than being 17" is about juliet. it is blatantly obvious but i am going to spell it out clearly for Juicebox who really cant understand things easily, it seems. as i have said before, juliet works for the strokes as a manager manager = juliet team = the strokes juliet, as im sure your know, is julians wife a husband and wife usually love each other hence julians loves julliet "more than being seventeen" sorry if i am making you all out to be retarded but jesus the meaning is staring you in the face |
The Strokes – Under Control Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i think that in twenty years time, when the strokes atop making music, this will be regarded as Julians masterpiece a better song has never been written |
Interpol – Direction Lyrics | 18 years ago |
im gonna hazard a guess and say this song is about direction sometimes i crack myself up |
Interpol – Cubed Lyrics | 18 years ago |
where the hell is this song from |
The Strokes – Ask Me Anything Lyrics | 18 years ago |
exactly viotech...people have all failed to recognise the irony of this song |
The Strokes – Evening Sun Lyrics | 18 years ago |
when we say "its about juliet" we are only referring to the line "Oh you're the prettiest, smartest captain of the team I love you more than being 17" juliet is one of the bands managers. hence the "captain of the team" lyric |
The Strokes – Ize of the World Lyrics | 18 years ago |
the bit at 2:43 where his voice goes all screwy is brilliant.....i think the words for that bit above are wrong but i cant quite work out what he is saying....the guitar solo is brilliant aswell |
The Strokes – Evening Sun Lyrics | 18 years ago |
yeah definitely about juliet.....who else could it be |
Bloc Party – Skeleton Lyrics | 18 years ago |
where on earth did u get that from?? please tell me because i have no idea what u are talking about..u make no sense,,,,god help us |
Arctic Monkeys – I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor Lyrics | 18 years ago |
straight in at No. 1 in england a few weeks back....its a great song and i have high hopes for the album thats out in january....ive listened to some of their other stuff like mardy bum and scummy and it all sounds good.....i just hope that they dont let the hype go to their heads |
Maxïmo Park – Apply Some Pressure Lyrics | 18 years ago |
how can u possibly call this song groundbreaking??? "The structure of the song isn't verse-chorus-verse like most pop songs" jesus christ there are loads of songs out there that dont follow the verse chorus verse structure...maximo park werent the first band ever to deviate from this structure....so how on earth can they be groundbreaking?? to be groundbreaking you have got to do something new and original.....this isnt original and breaks absolutely no ground....what it IS though, is a great song and nothing more |
The Strokes – On The Other Side Lyrics | 18 years ago |
not quite sure about the last verse...its kinda hard to hear what he is saying |
The Strokes – Razorblade Lyrics | 18 years ago |
im privileged to be the first one to comment on this...its a brilliant song and probably my second favorite of the new songs that i have heard (after you only live once) it reminds me of someday....not really sure why but it seems to have the same feel to it |
The Strokes – A Minor 4-4 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
the brownies version isnt have as good as the arlene grocery one.. the sound quality is much much better on the arlene grocery recording |
The Strokes – Elephant Song Lyrics | 18 years ago |
great song but nothing... and i mean nothing.....will ever top the 90 seconds of pure brilliance that is Clear Skies....if only it was longer |
The Strokes – You Only Live Once Lyrics | 18 years ago |
its "29 different attributes only 7 that you like" who says 20 hundred anyway??? |
Kings of Leon – Milk Lyrics | 18 years ago |
jesus christ would people please talking such shit on this ebsite......im sorry scarletbegonianb but that has to be the biggest load of shit i have heard in a long time....people always try to over-analyse songs and try and appear "intellectual"...forget that maternal bond parental authority shit.....this song is just about a fucking girl..... could someone please tell me where in the song there is any reference to parents or defiance or any of the things you seem to think its about....what i do see though, is plenty of references to a girl, a girl who caleb appears to love...and no scarletbegonianb it is not his mother |
The Strokes – Clear Skies Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i heard a rumour on a forum somewhere that "Killing Lies", a song from the new album, was actually this re-recorded....if thats true then it would be amazing but im not getting my hopes up |
Interpol – Specialist Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is on the japanese version of Turn On The Bright Lights.............Why they got it and we didnt ill never know |
The Strokes – Juicebox Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is amazing....the whole of the new album is supposed to sound very different but if its as good as this song then i dont care.. this is my new "drive fast" song. the riff is so un-Strokes-ish but as soon as the chorus kicks in its julian back to his brilliant best. now im pissed of coz i have to wait for a few months to here the rest of the album. |
The Coral – Pass It On Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i think that instead of "until boulders turn to lead" it should be "until gold has turned to lead" Alchemists used to try to turn lead to gold so the imagery fits |
Antony and the Johnsons – What Can I Do? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i dont understand why this is on the Antony and the Johnsons album when its pretty much all Rufus Wainwright with backing from Antony. Great song though. I love Rufus Wainwrights voice |
Bloc Party – Like Eating Glass Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The lyric "we have crosses on our eyes" is about death. Lead singer Kele Okereke (i think thats how its spelled) used to watch a lot of cartoons and when the characters die they have crosses on their eyes. Thats what he said anyway |
Weezer – Hash Pipe Lyrics | 19 years ago |
what the fruck is the matter with everyone here...this is a brilliant fucking song....granted its a different kind of music to pinkerton and the blue album but for fuck sake u cant expect a band to keep churning out the same shit over and over....the band had to move on, take a different direction...in ways the everything on the green album was leading up to maladroit...the style of music in maladroit isnt like pinkerton or the blue album but everyone here still loves the album....how can u say the green album is shit for being different when u claim that maladroit is so good, even though it is different itself.....Hypocrasy of the highest degree |
Zwan – Lyric Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Billy Corgan on Prozac!!!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! |
The Smashing Pumpkins – Try, Try, Try Lyrics | 19 years ago |
the alt version is on Machina II - Friends and Enemies Of Modern Music...It was realeased over the internet only but i was lucky enough to get a copy...it has two versions of If There Is A God also |
The Smashing Pumpkins – Try, Try, Try (Machina II version) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
does anyone else have Machina II? i was lucky enough to get a copy..its brilliant |
The Smashing Pumpkins – Perfect Lyrics | 19 years ago |
people say that Adore(the album this came from) was the beginning of the end for the band..i disagree..following the loss of jimmy chamberlain the band had to take a new direction...the album is full of drum machine beats and techno rythms and while it is sometimes found lacking, it is a good album in its own right and was unfairly slated by the critics..unfortunately this led to diminished sales of their last studio album Machina- The Machines of God - a seriously underrated album...with hits suck as stand inside your love and try try try, machina is as good as, if not better than the highly overrated(but very good) Siamese Dream |
Athlete – Tourist Lyrics | 19 years ago |
athlete*** is right it is bleary eyed photos.....the lyrics are posted on the bands website |
Athlete – Yesterday Threw Everything At Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
hey steve....please stop with religious themes.....everyone on this site is trying to interpret songs as being religiousand frankly its absurd...there is no way that this song has any connection to christianity...i have never heard such complete bollox in my life...where on earth did u pull that shit from....its ridiculous...for the love of god(and jesus and john the baptist and whoever else u think this is about) shut up...this is a love song, plain and true |
Athlete – I Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
im delighted to be the first to comment on this song...its my favorite on the album! i think its just about being content with his life and the situation that he is in...i love the line "life is beautiful for sure" |
Kings of Leon – Taper Jean Girl Lyrics | 19 years ago |
vincent h is a complete fucking ass with absolutely no musical taste...kings of leon are without a doubt the most original band around at the moment and are, in my opinion, one of the best bands of the last 50 years |
Kings of Leon – Holy Roller Novocaine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
their grandfather was called leon, not their father...their father had to quit becoming a preacher after it emerged that he had an affair with a woman in the community....that's basically what its about |
Pixies – Dig For Fire Lyrics | 19 years ago |
people talk way too much shit on these sites |
Embrace (UK) – Gravity Lyrics | 19 years ago |
why does everyone assume that just beacause a band is christian then they write about religion....people always try to find religion and drugs in songs where there isnt any.......there is no way this song could be interpreted as being about religion. its about love and nothing else.......jesus does not figure in this song at all!!!!!!!! |
The Strokes – Reptilia Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is perfect in every way.........i have never come across a song like this that just does absolutely nothing wrong........the timing of the riff is spot on..oh i love this song so much |
Soundgarden – Jesus Christ Pose Lyrics | 19 years ago |
who cares what the song means........this song features the best drumming i have ever heard. Matt Cameron is a GOD!!!! (better than Jesus some might say) |
Jeff Buckley – Je N'en Connais Pas La Fin Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is on the "live at sin e" cd. Its incredible |
Jeff Buckley – Mojo Pin Lyrics | 19 years ago |
you guys have to listen to this song on "live at sin e".......its 10 times better than the album version on grace |
Razorlight – Dalston Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i think maybe in that interview johnny was just trying to protect pete doherty.........the are far too many references to him and his lifestyle for it not to be... "don't go round the houses" clearly refers to the council estates in dalston, famous for housing crackheads and dealers.. it is a plea for pete to just get off the drugs and get away from the people that are supplying him eith them |
The Libertines – France Lyrics | 19 years ago |
What a song!!! Carl at his brilliant best |
The Libertines – Can't Stand Me Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
in the wake of the libertines split this song seems slightly prophetic...the toubles between carl and pete had obviously been there for a while and the split was inevitable. they are apparently back on speaking terms now so hopefully we will see and end to babyshambles and a return of the libertines |
Razorlight – Vice Lyrics | 19 years ago |
the thing about bob dylan was that lyrically he was brilliant but he didnt have the voice to carry his songs....other people singing dylan songs is better than dylan singing them himself(Joan Baez for example)........so in ways this album is better than a lot of what dylan did(in a musical sense at least) at the same time Johnny Borell has an ego bigger than his big hair............. but so did the beatles and they didnt turn out half bad.....i'd say just forget what borell is saying and just listen to his music |
Kings of Leon – Four Kicks Lyrics | 19 years ago |
jesus christ why is there such ambiguity about the lyrics when they are writtn on the album sleeve.........ice cream is right |
Kings of Leon – Soft Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is definitely about impotence.....and what a song!!! definitely the best song about impotence ever written! |
Kings of Leon – Slow Night, So Long Lyrics | 19 years ago |
KingsOfLeonRock114 is totally right... i read that rip and burn interview aswell........its kind of a love hate thing caleb is going on with her..."I hate her face but enjoy the company" |
Kings of Leon – Wicker Chair Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is on the Holy Roller Novocaine EP. its the only song that didn't make it onto their first album "Youth and Young Manhood".... i cant understand why coz it is equally as good as california waiting, holy roller novocaine, molly's chambers and wasted time.... oh yeah and the byron is pretty much right. |
Kings of Leon – Razz Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is just about how shitly jared treats women and how much it pisses caleb off |
