Tarja Turunen – You Would Have Loved This Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Tarja's mother died while she was on tour with Nightwish for the Century Child album. She felt as though she never really had a chance to say goodbye to her mother and used this song as a way to give herself the closure she needed. It's a rather sad story and a beautiful song. BTW, lyrics starting with the line 'Happy New Year' down are from the song 'Happy New Year'. |
Tarja Turunen – The Seer Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think she's fighting against her partner in a relationship and loses herself in legends of kind, wise heroes to escape the stress of it. She believes that the legends are what allows her to deal with the relationship, when in reality, the perfect hero that she's been searching for was inside her all along. So I suppose you could say that it's about finding the inner strength to deal with your problems. |
Tarja Turunen – Sing For Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I also get the insecurity feeling. I think she's facing a decision of some sort and is asking for reassurance and guidance that she's doing the right thing. The metaphor of tying herself to the floor I think means that she doesn't want the burden of the decision and refuses to move one way or the other without support from her loved one. She's receiving too many opinions on which way she should decide, which is clouding the truth from her, so she reaches out to someone she trusts for guidance. And for me, the phrase 'I need you to sing for me' conjures an image of someone needing to be cradled and reassured. It's a very strong image for being such a simple phrase. |
Tarja Turunen – Ciaran's Well Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think that there was an interview that mentioned that this song was based on one of the legends about an actual well in either Scotland or Ireland, I don't remember which at the moment. The way I choose to interpret it is that a woman cast a wish on this well and was trapped by it. She haunts the area, wishing for someone to release her from the forest. I think the last verse is saying that casting a foolish or selfish wish on the well will give the wisher the same result as the woman. |
Tarja Turunen – Boy And The Ghost Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I don't see it as sexual abuse so much as neglect. It seems that the boy was turned out onto the streets by his family. The Dead Boy is probably another child who went through the same thing and died alone, scared, and angry. He realizes that the boy doesn't have the same anger, but that even the smallest sign of someone caring, a toy for instance, would probably save the child's life. Unfortunately, no one else noticed, or cared to notice. The child, believing he had no where to go and that he was unloved, froze to death on the streets. Just the interpretation I get. In some ways, I think it's even sadder than abuse. |
Nightwish – Bye Bye Beautiful Lyrics | 16 years ago |
nagtykab: I think they're saying that she chose, through her actions, to no longer be a part of what Nightwish is about, i.e. "the long road". I think what they mean by 'we'll be waiting' is that they're ready and waiting to forgive all hurts if she is. |
Within Temptation – The Cross Lyrics | 16 years ago |
RushlightsHeart: Are you talking about the very first sound you hear in the song? The really high-pitched melody over the piano? I actually think that's Sharon showing off. It's really weird and almost sounds like whistle register, but I could swear that's her (I hear a breath in the middle of it). |
Nightwish – Bye Bye Beautiful Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think 'Jacob's ghost' is actually a reference to A Christmas Carol. Before anyone shoots me for cheesy references, hear me out. Jacob Marley was a friend of Scrooge who was just as greedy and miserly as he was. When he died, he came back as a ghost to warn Scrooge of just what his actions would get him. I think Tuomas is trying to be a sort of 'Jacob' to Tarja. He mentioned in the letter that 'greed, love and cultural differences' should have never been brought into Nightwish. I don't think that he believes Tarja herself to be the 'Scrooge' in this case: he's made it perfectly clear that he believes Marcelo to be the guilty party (see Master Passion Greed) and the fact that he calls her 'the girl in white' reinforces that he believed her to be naive and innocent concerning her husband's greed. I also don't think this song is as angry/romantic as some people think it is: I find it as more of a bittersweet farewell to an old friend. |
Nightwish – Beauty And The Beast Lyrics | 16 years ago |
shura22: Tuomas performed all male vocals on Angels Fall First. |
Nightwish – Bye Bye Beautiful Lyrics | 16 years ago |
DixieJ: Tuo never lists repeated lyrics more than once. And people have heard every thing from 'bye, bye' to 'die, die' to 'cry, cry', but given what the song is about and the tone it has, I really don't think Tuomas would be telling Tarja to die or even to cry. I think it's just a case of Marco sounding really strange when he yells. |
Nightwish – Master Passion Greed Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think the last line best sums up what Tuomas feels about the whole situation: he never said anything to keep Marcelo from completely taking over Tarja, and that hurts him. |
Nightwish – Meadows of Heaven Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Well, since no one else is going to comment, I will. This is one of the very few songs that makes me cry whenever I hear it. It seems to be about the things that you miss horribly but can never have back. Personally, though, it reminds me of my grandfather. He died a few years back, just before Christmas. Probably why the stanza beginning with 'Rocking chair without a dreamer' is so powerful for me. |
Nightwish – Bye Bye Beautiful Lyrics | 16 years ago |
.....The lyrics are posted on the Nightwish site. I took them directly from there. |
Nightwish – Whoever Brings the Night Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Actual Lyrics: We seduce the dark with pain and rapture Like two ships that pass in the night You and I, a whore and a bashful sailor Welcome to a sunrise of a dirty mind All you love is a lie You one-night butterfly Hurt me, be the one Whoever brings the night The Dark, created to hide the innocent white, the lust of night Eyes so bright, seductive lies Crimson masquerade where I merely played my part Poison dart of desire All you love is a lie You one-night butterfly Hurt me, be the one Whoever brings the night Choose a bride Tonight a fantasy for a zombie Hurt me, I love to suffer Your harem`s a dream for free Enter Suck from us and live forever Rotten beauty Will haunt you for a lifetime Come with me underwater And drown to despise me no more Unholy, unworthy My night is a dream for free All you love is a lie You one-night butterfly Hurt me, be the one Whoever brings the night |
Nightwish – The Poet And The Pendulum Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Actual Lyrics: "WHITE LANDS OF EMPATHICA” The end. The songwriter`s dead. The blade fell upon him Taking him to the white lands Of Empathica Of Innocence Empathica Innocence ”HOME” The dreamer and the wine Poet without a rhyme A widowed writer torn apart by chains of hell One last perfect verse Is still the same old song Oh Christ how I hate what I have become Take me home Getaway, runaway, fly away Lead me astray to dreamer`s hideaway I cannot cry `cause the shoulder cries more I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world Forgive me I have but two faces One for the world One for God Save me I cannot cry `cause the shoulder cries more I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world My home was there `n then Those meadows of heaven Adventure-filled days One with every smiling face Please, no more words Thoughts from a severed head No more praise Tell me once my heart goes right Take me home Getaway, runaway, fly away Lead me astray to dreamer`s hideaway I cannot cry `cause the shoulder cries more I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world Forgive me I have but two faces One for the world One for God Save me I cannot cry `cause the shoulder cries more I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world ”THE PACIFIC” Sparkle my scenery With turquoise waterfall With beauty underneath The Ever Free Tuck me in beneath the blue Beneath the pain, beneath the rain Goodnight kiss for a child in time Swaying blade my lullaby On the shore we sat and hoped Under the same pale moon Whose guiding light chose you Chose you all ” I`m afraid. I`m so afraid. Being raped again, and again, and again I know I will die alone. But loved. You live long enough to hear the sound of guns, long enough to find yourself screaming every night, long enough to see your friends betray you. For years I`ve been strapped unto this altar. Now I only have 3 minutes and counting. I just wish the tide would catch me first and give me a death I always longed for ”. ”DARK PASSION PLAY” 2nd robber to the right of Christ Cut in half - infanticide The world will rejoice today As the crows feast on the rotting poet Everyone must bury their own No pack to bury the heart of stone Now he`s home in hell, serves him well Slain by the bell, tolling for his farewell The morning dawned, upon his altar Remains of the dark passion play Performed by his friends without shame Spitting on his grave as they came Getaway, runaway, fly away Lead me astray to dreamer`s hideaway I cannot cry `cause the shoulder cries more I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world Forgive me I have but two faces One for the world One for God Save me I cannot cry `cause the shoulder cries more I cannot die, I, a whore for the cold world Today, in the year of our Lord 2005, Tuomas was called from the cares of the world. He stopped crying at the end of each beautiful day. The music he wrote had too long been without silence. He was found naked and dead, With a smile in his face, a pen and 1000 pages of erased text.” Save me ”MOTHER & FATHER” Be still, my son You`re home Oh when did you become so cold? The blade will keep on descending All you need is to feel my love Search for beauty, find your shore Try to save them all, bleed no more You have such oceans within In the end I will always love you The beginning. |
Nightwish – Meadows of Heaven Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Actual Lyrics: I close my eyes The lantern dies The scent of awakening Wildhoney and dew Childhood games Woods and lakes Streams of silver Toys of olden days Meadows of heaven The flowers of wonder And the hidden treasures In the meadow of life My acre of heaven A 5-year-old winterheart In a place called home Sailing the waves of past Meadows of heaven Rocking chair without a dreamer A wooden swing without laughter Sandbox without toy soldiers Yuletide without the Flight Dreambound for life Flowers wither, treasures stay hidden Until I see the 1st star of fall I fall asleep And see it all: Mother`s care And color of the kites Meadows of heaven |
Nightwish – For the Heart I Once Had Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Actual Lyrics: Heaven today is but a way To a place I once called home Heart of a child, one final sigh As another love goes cold Once my heart beat to the rhythm of the falling snow Blackened below, the river now flows A stream of molten virgin snow For the heart I`ll never have For the child forever gone The music flows, because it longs For the heart I once had Living today without a way To understand the weight of the world Faded and torn, old and forlorn My weak and hoping heart For the child, for the light For the heart I once had I`ll believe and foresee Everything I could ever be For the heart I`ll never have For the child forever gone The music flows, because it longs For the heart I once had Time will not heal a Dead Boy`s scars Time will kill For the heart I`ll never have For the child forever gone The music flows, because it longs For the heart I once had |
Nightwish – Cadence of Her Last Breath Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Actual lyrics: Running for her life The dark rain from her eyes still falls Breathtaking butterfly Chose a dark day to live Save one breath for me A Loner longing for The cadence of her last breath Why do I miss someone I never met, with bated breath I lay Seawinds brought her to me A butterfly, mere one-day miracle of life And all the poetry in the world Finally makes sense to me Save one death for me A Loner longing for The cadence of her last breath Put to rest all that`s not life Drink for beauty and fill my blank page Sometimes a dream turns into a dream A Loner longing for The cadence of her last breath |
Nightwish – Bye Bye Beautiful Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Actual lyrics: Finally the hills are without eyes They are tired of painting a dead man`s face red With their own blood They used to love having so much to lose Blink your eyes just once and see everything in ruins Did you ever hear what I told you Did you ever read what I wrote you Did you ever listen to what we played Did you ever let in what the world said Did we get this far just to feel your hate Did we play to become only pawns in the game How blind can you be, don`t you see You chose the long road but we`ll be waiting Bye bye beautiful Jacob`s ghost for the girl in white Blindfold for the blind Dead siblings walking the dying earth Noose around a choking heart Eternity torn apart Slow toll now the funeral bells ”I need to die to feel alive” Did you ever hear what I told you Did you ever read what I wrote you Did you ever listen to what we played Did you ever let in what the world said Did we get this far just to feel your hate Did we play to become only pawns in the game How blind can you be, don`t you see You chose the long road but we`ll be waiting Bye bye beautiful It`s not the tree that forsakes the flower But the flower that forsakes the tree Someday I`ll learn to love these scars Still fresh from the red-hot blade of your words ...How blind can you be, don`t you see... ...that the gambler lost all he does not have... Did you ever hear what I told you Did you ever read what I wrote you Did you ever listen to what we played Did you ever let in what the world said Did we get this far just to feel your hate Did we play to become only pawns in the game How blind can you be, don`t you see You chose the long road but we`ll be waiting Bye bye beautiful |
Nightwish – 7 Days to the Wolves Lyrics | 16 years ago |
They've posted the lyrics on the webpage. The correct lyrics are: The wolves, my love, will come Taking us home where dust once was a man Is there Life before a Death? Do we long too much and never let in? Howl 7 days to the wolves Where will we be when they come 7 days to the poison And a place in heaven Time drawing near as they come to take us This is my church of choice Love`s strength standeth in love`s sacrifice For the rest, I have to say to you I will dream like the God And suffer like all the dead children Howl 7 days to the wolves Where will we be when they come 7 days to the poison And a place in heaven Time drawing near as they come to take us This is Where heroes And cowards Part ways Light the fire, feast Chase the ghost, give in Take the road less traveled by Leave the city of fools Turn every poet loose |
Nightwish – The Poet And The Pendulum Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Actually, the last lines are from a mother's point of view. She's literally telling her son that no matter what happens to him or what he does she will love him. FYI: The Song is split into five sub-sections, titled 'White Land Of Empathica', 'Home', 'The Pacific', 'Dark Passion Play' and 'Mother & Father'. |
Nightwish – While Your Lips Are Still Red Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Found the official lyrics, evidently Jarmo posted them... Sweet little words made for silence Not talk Young heart for love Not heartache Dark hair for catching the wind Not to veil the sight of a cold world Kiss while your lips are still red While he`s still silent Rest while bosom is still untouched, unveiled Hold another hand while the hand`s still without a tool Drown into eyes while they`re still blind Love while the night still hides the withering dawn First day of love never comes back A passionate hour`s never a wasted one The violin, the poet`s hand, Every thawing heart plays your theme with care Kiss while your lips are still red While he`s still silent Rest while bosom is still untouched, unveiled Hold another hand while the hand`s still without a tool Drown into eyes while they`re still blind Love while the night still hides the withering dawn |
Nightwish – While Your Lips Are Still Red Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love Marco's voice on this song. The song is the theme for the upcoming movie Leiksa! and seems to be a warning of the 'life is short, live while you can' variety. Just a question, but are the actual lyrics "Unveiled on another hair"? 'Cause I've always heard "Unveiled, hold another hand"... |
Nightwish – Amaranth Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Tuomas actually didn't even want this song on the album, much less as a single. There was an interview with him recently and he was saying that as he was writing the chorus he was laughing to himself saying that it 'would never work' and was 'too poppish'..... Thank god the rest of the band talked him into it... |
Nightwish – Amaranth Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Lyrics are a bit off. Jarmo's posted them on the site: Baptised with a perfect name The doubting one by heart Alone without himself War between him and the day Need someone to blame In the end, little he can do alone You believe but what you see You receive but what you give Caress the one, the Never-Fading Rain in your heart - the tears of snow-white sorrow Caress the one, the hiding amaranth In a land of the daybreak Apart from the wandering pack In this brief flight of time we reach For the ones, whoever dare You believe but what you see You receive but what you give Caress the one, the Never-Fading Rain in your heart - the tears of snow-white sorrow Caress the one, the hiding amaranth In a land of the daybreak Reaching, searching for something untouched Hearing voices of the Never-Fading calling Caress the one, the Never-Fading Rain in your heart - the tears of snow-white sorrow Caress the one, the hiding amaranth In a land of the daybreak |
Sonata Arctica – Kingdom For A Heart Lyrics | 17 years ago |
In the For the Sake of Revenge version he adds in a snippet of Letter to Dana....And changes 'wouldn't mean a thing' to 'wouldn't mean a shit'.... |
Nightwish – FantasMic Lyrics | 17 years ago |
.....About the 'Phoenix'....Was Fantasia 2000 out when he wrote this? It could be about the Rite Of Spring segment..... |
Tarot – Follow the Blind Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It's pretty much a violent song about how far down violence has brought us. Who the rats and the dogs are is 'open to interpretation'. Trinity and Novaja Zemlya are both nuclear test sites. It's a violent lament on war and violence. |
Charon – Guilt On Skin Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It seriously sounds like he raped and murdered a woman and then tries to blame it on her to rid himself of the guilt. Great song, though.... |
Tarot – I Rule Lyrics | 17 years ago |
.....This song scares me.....I love it, honestly, but the lyrics are kinda....Shudder-worthy.... |
Sonata Arctica – Black Sheep Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Flameenix: I found an old interview on an NW site that mentioned it. It's "We're not Iron Maiden/ And we're not from England/ We are the Sonata/ And we come from Finland..." |
Nightwish – Dead Gardens Lyrics | 17 years ago |
.....Tuomas completely spoiled this song for me....I found an interview with him, I'll try to find the link, where he was talking about the song-writing process for Once. He said that he sat down, ready to write, and nothing came out. Pissed off, he jotted down whatever came to his head....And this was the result... Meh, I'll come up with my own, less mundane explanation.... |
Nightwish – Where Were You Last Night Lyrics | 17 years ago |
....Tis a cover of the 80's song by Swede Ankie Bagger....I must say that I prefer this version: the tempo's a bit faster and it's more....anthemic, I suppose.... |
Sonata Arctica – Black Sheep Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree on the 'not fitting in'....But what the hell does Tony sing on the For the Sake of Revenge version? All I can make out of the first stanza is : "...We're not from England (inland?)/ We (hunt?) the summertime/We come from Finland..." |
Nightwish – Forever Yours Lyrics | 17 years ago |
AquilaCat: I think it's a tinwhistle/pennywhistle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinwhistle Probably why so many people equate the song with Titanic. Note: I think Tarja hates the way she sounds here because she had the flu during the recording, you can tell a bit in her breathing, and doesn't feel that she was really at her best. |
Nightwish – Feel For You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Scarily, I can see the necrophiliac thing. However, I always thought it was more he used her and she genuinely loved him. Perhaps he wanted to drive her to suicide, perhaps not: either way, she killed herself because of him. Thus, he had the ultimate control over her, but as he can no longer physically control her, it's a 'draw'. The last part can be seen from both sides: she is telling him that what she is doing is completely for him and that he doesn't need to worry about her because she loves him. Meanwhile he is lying to her, saying that everything is for her while he feels no love for her. The final two lines can be taken both ways depending on the emphasis. "Just give in to it, never think again: I feel for you," comes from her side, telling him to give into what they have because she loves him. "Just give in to it. Never think again I feel for you," comes from his side, telling her to give into death/his manipulation, but that she should never have believed that he loved her. Whichever is true (the necrophiliac version or this) Tuomas is just a little bit disturbed. Still an awesome song, though.... |
Nightwish – Dead To The World Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Tuomas, again, is lamenting the loss of his innocence. The elusive Century Child is his innocence, his inner child. "The child gave thought to the poet's world Gave comfort to the Fallen," is saying that his innocence made his life make sense to him. It created a sense of wonder that let him discover and consider the world in his own way. He constantly refers to himself as 'a beast' in his lyrics, showing that he probably has a low opinion of himself. The 'Fallen' probably simply means himself. "Remaining, yet still uninvited Those words scented my soul," isn't referring to the child: it's referring to him. He remains here, perhaps in his view unwanted, long after his innocence has disappeared. "It's not the monsters under your bed... ...Makes you cry for the the child..." is saying that it isn't the unknown or imaginary that scares him so much as the cruelty of man. The next two lines could be referring to wars not fought with weapons ("Unarmed, unscarred") but with words and other not-physically-violent methods, i.e. discrimination. He doesn't want to 'die scarless': to be one of those people. He wants to regain his innocence ("Tell me now what to do"), and says how he's been trying to regain it ("I studied silence....I joined the sinful...") through what he percieves now as the wrong methods. He's giving up now and asks the "Heaven Queen" (open to individual perception) to embrace him. His innocence, his joy is dead and gone and so he asks for death as he is already metaphorically dead. His 'favorite view of the world' is that it is a dead place. The land itself is silent. The cruelty of its inhabitants is constant. However, every day brings the opportunity for change, and, overtime, the world and it's inhabitants slowly evolve, if only to repeat the same patterns. The last stanza ("As he died....Innocence reborn once more") clarifies that he is not speaking of Christ. His innocence will return to him, if only to die again, either when he physically dies or metaphorically dies. The child didn't die for the world: the child died for, or because of him. Now that child is being reborn with the return of his innocence. The irony of the approximate time of his writing the song is that it was very near the new millenium and century: possibly he was looking forward to a new start in the next millenium/century and it means no more than that....Then again this is Tuomas we're talking about. I'm not sure how coherent this is (it's nearly 6:00 in the morning) but I'm pretty sure I've gotten down what this song has come to mean to me. |
Nightwish – Bare Grace Misery Lyrics | 17 years ago |
...I always thought the "Spoiled Lucrece" line was referring to Lucrezia Borgia....Hmmm..... Well, I guess it depends on what side of the argument you're on....If she's the sympathetic figure, the Roman Lucretia works: it wasn't her choice to become what she is. If she's unsympathetic, then it's Lucrezia Borgia: she willingly became what she is and has no problem with it. |
Nightwish – Away Lyrics | 17 years ago |
....I think it's another of Tuomas's 'inner child' songs. He's not really talking about dreaming your life away: he's talking about ceasing to dream. He's warning people not to give up their dreams: "Cherish the moment Tower the skies Don´t let the dreamer fade to grey like grass" But, meh, as with most of his songs, you can make an argument either way.....Though where these people keep coming up with the 'Christ' arguments is beyond me..... |
Nightwish – Beauty And The Beast Lyrics | 17 years ago |
....Silly me....Found the transcript on the NW Forum....Tony made it up, he said he was so nervous that he screwed it up: "From cradle to grave, love leads our way, we live forever, that one day, from days of famine, to the days of feast, the tale of the beauty and the beast" |
Nightwish – Beauty And The Beast Lyrics | 17 years ago |
...I'm not sure what Tony's saying at the beginning. It sounds like "From cradle of grief (?), Love, it's over. We live forever that one day. From time of famine to days of feast: the day of the Beauty and the Beast." I'm sure of nothing but "From time of famine...Beauty and the Beast." |
Nightwish – Ever Dream Lyrics | 17 years ago |
AquilaCat: The words aren't in the song. It's Tuomas's little linernote. Think of it as the same thing as the last lines in the lyrics booklet for Gethsemane. |
Nightwish – Romanticide Lyrics | 17 years ago |
....A bit like Slaying the Dreamer for a relationship.....He's been betrayed by someone, and he's saying that he knows just how deceptive and vain they are ("double-faced carnivore"). He doesn't understand why he was betrayed ("Tell me why") but wants people around him to stop trying to 'guide' him through it ("Leave me be, And cease to tell me..."). His "creations" could be his own work or the illusions he allowed himself to create about this person. The line about the "Dead Boy" is an obvious reference to the earlier song. (For some reason the line that jumps out at me is "And you....I wish I didn't feel for you anymore...") "Wine turns to water" is another reference to a lost illusion or 'miracle'. "Lord let me be wrong..." could be his inner plea that this had never happened. The "Temporary pain..." verse is him saying "Oh, you screwed up big time..." That's what I'm getting from it right now....Maybe in a few days I'll get something different. One last thing, anyone getting the slightest inkling that this was written when things were really rough within the band? Might explain why they don't do it live.... |
Nightwish – Dark Chest Of Wonders Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with the idea that it's about innocence or the loss of it. The first part of the song seems to be talking about a time when he felt free to dream and not care about what might happen. I think that the 'dark chest of wonders' is the world as a whole. To innocent eyes, the world is huge and unexplored; once we've been exposed to it, we lose the sense of wonder and the world becomes a very dark and depressing place. I think the reference to 'what the world stole' is about the innocent part of himself that he feels is lost. |
Sonata Arctica – Champagne Bath Lyrics | 18 years ago |
....Very angry here. The song seems, at least to me, to be about those irritating people who are ridiculously famous, do pretty-much nothing, and whine about how cruel everyone is to them..... Adore the 'High Apparitor, hear my appeal, This Thing is not to be allowed to breed' bit..... |
Kamelot – Ne Pleure Pas Lyrics | 18 years ago |
French-language version of 'Don't You Cry'. Not sure what the translation is, they seem to have gone more for the flow of it than the literal words. |
Kamelot – Elizabeth Part 3 - Fall From Grace Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Oooh, I love this trilogy! The way the music just builds is amazing...And I've been able to creep my parents, and a couple of friends, out when they ask what the hell he's talking about. Elizabeth Bathory...There's a twisted individual. Anyway, great end to an album, great song, and Khan's range in it is spectacular! I love the fade-out, and 'interlude' section.... |
Kamelot – Don't You Cry Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The song is something Youngblood wrote after the death of his father. It would seem that the verses are him speaking to his father and the chorus is the father's reply... Anyone else heard the French version of this? It's absolutely gorgeous..... |
Nightwish – Gethsemane Lyrics | 18 years ago |
black angel: Gethsemane is the garden Christ visited shortly before his death. It is where he prayed for hours and where he spoke such words as "Father, if it be your will, let this cup pass from me" and "Not my will but thine be done". Tuomas obviously references it, but the story seems to focus more on his own lost love than the biblical story. |
