haha, obviously paroding hard rock bands, KoRn like people mentioned, though it also reminded me of limp biscuit in some parts. The song itself is just stupidly silly, a trademark of the aquabats that makes them so loveable. |

does anyone know their religion? They make allusions to christianity a lot, but not necessarily negative or positive, so I've been confused :/ Like this one, I don't get a positive or negative impression from the mentions of God/Jesus,He's just used to emphasize the idea of the song. |

"Talking is just masturbating Without the mess" lmao, I love that line. Anyways, this song, to me, is about the overall stress that society feels today. Life is so complicated and superficial that people don't even have true happiness anymore. Everyone is fucking vain. People try to make themselves happy with pride, vanity, and other things that are only fleeting and are rather fake. "Bored by happiness" refers to this; the joys people have today aren't really true happiness, because it's not a thing you can just gain. The only true way to be happy is just to be a good person, with people you love. Simplicity is best, stop trying to make life so complicated and stressful. :) |

First off, it doesn't have to be a girl D: Other than that, it's obvioius it's about people that crave attention and try to achieve it by committing suicide (or at least *saying* they'll commit suicide) I love this song, it's so true these days, so many teens try to be suicidal for attention, but I think What's your hurry, everyone will have his day to die everyone will die eventually, killing yourself is just quitting. I think people like that are cowards; APC seems to aggree. |

well, to me it seems political, but it could also be about someone with an internal conflict, wanting to face themself about something, maybe a past trama (doctor = therapist) But wtf is with the people saying it's anti-religious? This doesn't convey that feeling at all. And a lot of the lyrics don't make sense with that theory save maybe one of two lines. And the whole thing about him being catholic goes void when you remember this is a cover. |

awesome song. I bought the cd a couple days ago, this is definately my fav so far, but there's a few others I have my eye on. ~_^ Pretty much what everyone's been saying about being trapped and longing for happiness is what I think of it. I saw the video just today, and I definately thought it was awesome. Whoever mentioned Miyazaki was thinking what I was thinking. The animation of the tower and floating islands reminds me of his style, perhaps it was inspired by one of his movies (the style of the islands, that is. The characters look nothing like ghibli characters) |

Oh, though I probably should talk about the meaning :( hit me for posting too soon. Anyways, TMethod really don't like their parents, girlfriends, and town and general (hence the cd name "Escape From Cape Coma" which is a pun on Cape Coral, FL) or they don't in their songs in any case. (I distinctly remember the lead singer's mother calling into a local radio station once and chatting about how she was painting his room black for him) Uh, back to the song. It's about having to supress emotions, and that emotional weight making you feel like you're losing grips on reality; going crazy. The song is powerful in a crude way, lots of yelling, but it's the softer moments that I like. |

I'm not sure whether or not they're religious in general, since a lot of their songs make references that could be tied in with Christianity. Even if it's not, I definately don't think it's about futhering yourself from religion, highdiffado. Why would he have the line "And today's the hand of an angel You were not the kind to believe" if it were? So we know it's about grasping the moment, and either religion or relationships. |
