The White Stripes – Blue Orchid Lyrics

Wow. C'est parce wue je desteste les americains. The bible was translated by poetic geniuses. They stumble across very musical verses. Naturally, other poets are going to use the same musically inclined phrases.
Secondly, due to America's complete lack of literary knowledge, the Bible is just about our only common source of imagery. Stories of innocence betrayed are required to harken back to the bible.
Finally, stop assuming every artist is a vehement Christian! if I wanted to, I could make these lyrics to be based on the plight of Indochine. As a matter of fact, I will. And I'll use every freaking line.
1) "You got a reaction" lines refer to the use of Chinese imperialism, and how quickly the Indochinese fought back.
2) "Something's better than nothing" refers to the China's extraction of tribute, and how even as the percantage-based payment decreases do to the peasent famine, keeping the "peace tax" alive makes sense because some income is better than none.
3) "But I got the truth from showing up" refers to how Chinese scribes got to mutate the truth when they arrived because they were the first ones ther.
4) "How dare you" and "how old are you anyway" speaks of how China claimed to have a more solid and higher culture, even though their civilization was only a few centuries older than that of the Chinese
5) "You were given a flower" speaks of how Chine was given a perfectly functioning agrarian civilization but, through poor treatment of irrigation ducts, forced the citzens to abandon the white flower (rice) and go for sustinence from the blue sea. Also, it refers to how Chine felt the percentage-based tribute wasn't enough, and thought the Indochinese puppet state was mocking them with the insubstantial sum.
6) "Lips tastes sour" speaks of how Indochinese tradition prevented kissing, which would have seemed odd and explainable to the ming expeditions.
7) "Get behind me" talks of how Chine made sure Indochinese culture would be considered farther behind than the Chinese.
In conclusion, you guys suck. Songs can be about anything you want them to. And to the South American, zoophilliac is a perfectly fine word, but I don't see the connection. Later, crazy funsamentalists. |

I thought it was meant to be historical, like the way Soviets treated Lenin and Engles, how Russia became, well, den of thieves, and how capitalist countries always looked down on the communist enthusiasts, and that they knew the experiment would fail. and yes, lenin did wear his scarf like a noose. |

Regina Spektor – Carbon Monoxide Lyrics

Ooo, dark much? The "Come on Daddy" sounds very sexual, and I think the whole thing is about the deadening effects of love; how we step into a stable, unchanging state that is so wonderfully comforting. |
