Blonde Redhead – Here Sometimes Lyrics 13 years ago
All the lyrics are in the CD insert. Correct lyrics are:

A little girl above the fireplace
in the air, flying motionless.
Ring the bell so she could keep flying.
This is me, completely me.

End of day we watch the sun go down.
I can see you are like a firework.
You want to save me?
People will save me.
This is you, completely you.

Now it's day, but I am dreaming.
A man walks by; I want to be his wife.
I'm only here sometimes under the tree of life.
I'm only good sometimes taking my time to go home.

Like a candle wasted from burning,
I got shoes tired from walking.
Calling on your name,
my lips keep failing.
They have now forgotten to sing.

Now it's day, but I am dreaming.
A man walks by; I want to be his wife.
I'm only here sometimes under the tree of life.
I'm only good sometimes taking my time to go home.

Shiny Toy Guns – Le Disko Lyrics 17 years ago
This song may not be about lesbians but it's certainly not about drugs. It's either lesbianism or female dominance as someone pointed out. I mean watch the video for goodness sakes. All the men are killed at the end and when it's discovered that the sexually androgynous kid is a boy, he's killed, too. That's what the "If what they say is true..." line refers to. They don't know that he's a boy when he first walks in as evidenced by the way that that first girl stops kissing the girl she's kissing and starts kissing him.
You could say it's about female dominance but judging by the fact that "We Are Pilots" is pretty much a 'coming out' song, I'd go with lesbian.

The Dillinger Escape Plan – Unretrofied Lyrics 19 years ago
Oh and I think the line "is the can half diseased....half canned" is about small pox as a biological weapon. Does it exists as a weapon or has it been eradicated? "Is the man half machine...half man?" Will men act as men or will they destroy their own kind with heartless (machine like) actions? Ok, that's all I wanted to say.

The Dillinger Escape Plan – Unretrofied Lyrics 19 years ago
This is strictly my opinion, but to me, this song seems to be an anti-war song. I could almost imagine that it's written from the perspective of an Iraqi, for example, "I'll just fake it...and leave dead in the end" -- pretending to be happy that their country was invaded and destroyed "for their own sakes," and then "time wasted...wood paneled wagon carpool dragons killing me again" That seems to obviously point to our SUV driving, gaz guzzling culture that is the reason Iraqis are being killed. Then of course, "now they're looting our holes..." Finding Sadam in the hole, and "calloused intentions, cowards invention" I believe that points directly to the atomic bomb, those Weapons of Mass Destruction that were never found but that we raided and "looted holes" for. About the word "Unretrofied," well, if you break it down it means, Not Retro or Not Old. So, it's sad that war has not become old yet. War is "Unretrofied." I know that was probably all far-fetched, but that's just the interpretation that drew me to the song.

I stumbled upon this song because I like to click on the latest comment posted link and the reason no one comments on rap songs is because most (not all ), but most don't have deeper meanings. What you hear is what you get. After all, this is songmeanings.net.

Dark New Day – Taking Me Alive Lyrics 19 years ago
This song has to be about alimony/divorce and/or child support. I think the Trojan Horse lyric is a double entendre, and even though I like the sound of Dark New Day, the story on the album seems to be that of a trailer park family. Just look at "Brother." They even mention the happiness of the trailer park. I guess it's not bad, just a little unexpected.

Nine Inch Nails – Only Lyrics 19 years ago
I said I would never join songmeanings.net, but I just had to on this song. Listening to this song, I get the feeling that this about a person who has created themselves, that is, lives a life separate from who they really are. People who think it is necessary to hide who they truly are b/c society doesn't really accept their personality. For example, a person who is not necessarily happy all the time having to pretend that he or she is happy all the time ("Things aren't as pretty on the inside"). In the end, they don't really know who they are and can't handle having to be that shallow ("Sometimes I can see right through myself") ("I just made you up to hurt myself"). And maybe they might just quit giving a shit about what people think about them and be who they are ("Less concerned about fitting in...."). "There is no you, there is only me" would then refer to the way that person was two people, but now they have decided to kill that other person. Does that make any sense?
