ahhhh i like the older version soooo much better. maybe it's because it's the first version of telescope eyes i heard, but it was also one of the first eisley songs i had heard.
the older version is a bit different than the newer one. ieverytime i hear this song i think of all of the scary things from my childhood, which is kind of what the video is about but.....ehhhh...i duno. |

3 points of views - jim is the third point of view who ended up killing himself, "me" is diana, and the man is a guy that was friends with jim in high school. the man and his ex first love are talking about their friend and loss and whatever happened to the love which gets them to talk about the love that vanished between jim and diana. the slow fade of love was what caused jim to kill himself. i don't think the woman that is talking to "me" is diana, i think there are parallels between the two women and that's why they speak in the song.
of course the third verse is before jim dies. he probablykilled himself right after he "happened upon his old lover's old house"

such a gorgeous song! it's about marriage and how it's the end of one life and the beginning of another. in this song she's saying that they don't need to be married to be able to love each other or have a life together or have a family. why should something legal come between them and love? at least that's how i think of it :P |

This song is so haunting. The first time I heard it was when I saw the video and the video is just OUTSTANDING. Definitely my favorite Radiohead song :P |
