What Made Milwaukee Famous – Self-Destruct Lyrics 16 years ago
I agree, it is clientèle, but strictly as a word sense, not a "shout out". Especially if you look at the context it is used in the quatrain.

What Made Milwaukee Famous – For the Birds Lyrics 16 years ago
Here is what the lyrics sound like to me that you didn't get.

"From all the dust in the great escape?
When the rest is driving you to survive
How little the most means
While your laying at my feet"

The Dresden Dolls – Sex Changes Lyrics 17 years ago
Add me into the camp that thinks its about a sex change, the explanations for the other theories just seem to assume to much from the lyrics, To me its not three stories or double meaning, but all pretty simply the sex change operation. Meaning a male to female change if that clarifies, but it seems pretty obvious to me.

Action Action – 120 Ways to Kill You: An Illustrated Children's Book Lyrics 17 years ago
This one is easy yet hard. The first part is the hard part, he hints at being young, under age, and afraid.

The second stanza hints at something is wrong with him or the relationship, perhaps an abortion? Or his suicidal tendencies. The third stanza also reinforces this idea with the notion of having to tell people about it.

The next few stanzas are about him not wanting his partner to leave him, and then he goes into a few stanzas about the end of the world via a massive flood, but the backing vocals sing about how the world continues to go about its business, and its all in his mind. The rest of it is addresses to his partner, about their love.

Does anyone know what the backing vocals sing during the chorus?

Muse – City of Delusion Lyrics 17 years ago
Agree with lucky, not with Gabriel88. America started the war, there is no way it isn't about DC in some way or form.

TV on the Radio – Ambulance Lyrics 17 years ago
The Drummers Angel, have you listened to the song? There arn't moshers to it because its a slow, soft song. If they played Staring at the Sun, or Wolf Like Me, then maybe but Ambulance is one of their slower more melodic songs, it isn't meant to be a get up and dance number, though I often do to their live version because its amazing.

TV on the Radio – Don't Love You Lyrics 18 years ago
I see it as a after the breakup song. Notice the past tence on "all that you were, was all I could want" To me its a song after the breakup with the second verse meaning that hes waiting for her to call, but she won't. "knows that sullen silence is the meanest way to moan". So he can't sleep and finally stops loving her.

TV on the Radio – Say You Do Lyrics 18 years ago
Ill be the first to say that the lyrics may not be 100%, the "burn the indian sky the sea" bit is said so fast its hard to understand what he says if you don't have beforehand knowledge. So that said its boaut 96% correct.

The song is pretty self explanatory IMO, its above him wanting a girl to love him.

Placebo – Bubblegun Lyrics 19 years ago
I think the song is more about leading a rockstar-esk life; drug use and fast women, etc. How someday hes going to leave the lifestyle, and the second part is what keeps him there, continuing the cycle.

Toadies – Tyler Lyrics 19 years ago
While the stalking works for the most part, it doesn't make sence for the line "I hear her call out to me." If your being stalked, why would you call out to them?
