Klaxons – Magick Lyrics | 16 years ago |
maybe "The way to suck an egg" as in the "magic" trick where you light a piece of paper in a glass bottle and put an egg on the mouth the bottle and the lack of oxygen in the bottle sucks the egg into the bottle un-cracked. Not magic but merely science. |

Bloc Party – Plans Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I found the story! Its "The Adventure of the Speckled Band" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. You can read the short story here: http://sherlockholmes_cases.tripod.com/holmes1_8.htm To sum it up. A woman dies and leaves her wealth to her twin daughters. But their stepfather will recive the money upon their death. So he sets out vipers to come to them. LOL..." Just read it!!! |
Bloc Party – Plans Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Holy shit. I was about to write exactly waht funkyseaweed just wrote. I was trying to remember who wrote the story. I remember reading it in 12th grade English class. He actually trained the vipers to murder these two girls (who I think were sisters) and he sent "vipers" through a hole in the wall and If I remember correctly one of the sisters died or he died I can't remember. But this is defintely where Kele got part of the references from. Does anyone know the name of the story? |

From Kele himself: "It is about trying to recognize really courageous people..you can be really courageous or really heroic doing a nine-to-five job. Those are really admirable ways of living. This is not a Bravery song or cover by The Bravery. In the NME interview Sam talks about seeing this song and saying they never wrote it or performed it, But if they ask for request and someone yells out "open heart surgery" they just might play it. |
The Bravery – Fearless Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This could have reference to 9/11 becuase: "Too many fingers Too many thumbs Something wicked this way comes The best time I've ever had Waiting around for something bad" could mean: Americans were just waiting for something to happen kind of like hitch hiking. "Something wicked this way comes" Terrorist in the planes attacking the world trade centers "The best time I ever had, waiting around for something bad" Having fun and good times before 9/11. The chorus could mean A girls loves him becuase he is not afraid of anymore attacks on America. |
Bloc Party – Luno Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think "Luno" is about a girl he loves that is rebelling against authority. The girl does what she wants and doesn't care what anyone tells her to do or listens to what they have to say. He wants her to come back to him like she used to be before her rebellion. When he says: "And your nose is bleeding You deserve it You've beeen lying to me" This could mean two things: 1.) He beat her because she lies to him 2.) Or, she is doing cocaine and this is the price she pays for what she does and he's glad she's suffering for it. |
