Two words - Hot Rod. :D |
Attack Attack! (USA) – What Happens If I Can't Check My Myspace When We Get There? Lyrics | 15 years ago |
...Wrong 'Attack! Attack!'. Attack! Attack! are a Welsh band, and had the name first. This is for Attack Attack! (one exclamation mark). |
Tom Jones – Mama Told Me Not To Come Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Originally by Randy Newman, made popular by Three Dog Night but personally I love this version the best. ...Replied six years later, but c'est la vie. |
Fightstar – Never Change Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I saw them at Oxford on the 22nd, Charlie said it's going to be the next single. |
Fightstar – Give Me The Sky Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"The salt in your mouth has dried your words for now" "Prescribe me some time so I can carry you through the worst of it" |
My Chemical Romance – Desolation Row (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
They're selling postcards of the hanging They're painting the passports brown The beauty parlor is filled with sailors The circus is in town Here comes the blind commissioner They've got him in a trance One hand is tied to the tight-rope walker The other is in his pants And the riot squad, they're restless They need somewhere to go As Lady and I look out tonight From Desolation Row Cinderella, she seems so easy "Well, it takes one to know one," she smiles, And puts her hands in her back pockets Bette Davis style And in comes Romeo, moaning "You belong to me, I believe" And someone says "You're in the wrong place, my friend, You better leave" And the only sound that's left After the ambulances go Is Cinderella sweeping up On Desolation Row Now at midnight, all the agents And the superhuman crew Come out and round up everyone That knows more than they do Then they bring them to the factory Where the heart-attack machine Is strapped across their shoulders And then the kerosene Is brought down from the castles By insurance men who go Check to see that nobody is escaping To Desolation Row Right now I can't read too good Don't send me no more letters no Not unless you mail them From Desolation Row ---------------------------------------------------------- Those are the lyrics used. Everything else is from the Bob Dylan 11-minute version. |
The Cribs – Men's Needs Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I thought he was singing "Apollo Creed", to be honest... |
Fightstar – The Days I Recall Being Wonderful Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Better than LDoA's version, I'd say. |
The Automatic – Steve McQueen Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"I tried to __ direction for miles" I think that might be "I tried a new direction for miles" |
Funeral for a Friend – Waterfront Dance Club Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Great song. And I heard it before all but a few Funeral for a Friend fans because... I'M IN THE VIDEO > |
Coldplay – Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Reminds of me of U2, Joshua Tree-era. Like "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". Great song though. |
Fightstar – Hazy Eyes FULL Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This anaesthetic wont work (It just hurts me) - She lies to him to protect him from the truth, but it doesn't work. It just makes things worse. But by the end of the song, he strives to overcome it and move on. |
April March – I Am Weasel Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Ah, nostalgia. I loved this show! |
Pixies – Something Against You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
In Bruges trailer. =D |
Scouting for Girls – James Bond Lyrics | 16 years ago |
*Sean =D Normally I don't go for indie pop or however you want to categorise Scouting For Girls, but I do seem to quite like them, especially this one. Because I relate. I still want to be James Bond! 17 going on 7! |
Fightstar – Our Last Common Ancestor Lyrics | 16 years ago |
A random thought: Could it be about Blade Runner? |
Foo Fighters – Hell Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Anyone else think the intro sounds like the intro to Led Zeppelin's 'The Song Remains The Same'? Only in that almost machine-gun strumming way, but yeah... Also: 'The Pretender''s intro sounds like Stairway's intro... hm. Well, we all know Dave loves Zeppelin, so it's all good. |
Fightstar – Lost Like Tears In The Rain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
With Tannhauser Gate on the new album... How long until we can reconstruct Roy Batty's soliloquy with Fightstar songs? XD |
Coldplay – Politik Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Does this remind anyone else, musically at least, of something Muse might've done? Something about it reminds me of stuff like Shrinking Universe... Dunno. |
Maxïmo Park – Books from Boxes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Pure poetry. This song has some of my favourite lyrics in it. |
Foo Fighters – But, Honestly Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"Enter not I thank the stars" is actually "And tonight I thank the stars" Only a little thing, but it's really quite obvious. Plus "And tonight" makes so much more sense. |
Foo Fighters – Once And For All Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Woo first comment. I think it's just generally ending a relationship "Once and For All", moving on. Do the opening guitars remind anyone else of Rocket by Smashing Pumpkins? |
Foo Fighters – But, Honestly Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is probably my favourite track from the new album. Certainly one of my most played this week. I love it in the chorus when Taylor sings his bits. Wish there was more of them. And the guitars kicking in! YES. I have to agree with the poster who mentioned New Way Home. That's one of my favourite Foo tracks, and now this probably will be too. |
Foo Fighters – If Ever Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Sounds kinda like the Joe Cocker version of Little Help From My Friends |
Foo Fighters – The Pretender Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Great. Nay, it's *fucking* great. Excuse my French, but it was needed to emphasise just how incredible this song is. I think... could be way off, but I think maybe he's in love with a girl, and he's telling he's the one for her, even though she keeps going for other guys. Or that all these other guys say they're in love with her, but they're not. When he says it - he's not pretending. And he's not giving up. Good man! |
My Chemical Romance – Song 2 (Blur cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
If anyone wants to hear it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARK5S5ei8Ok Lest not forget, though, this was recorded for a live radio thing. Probably Radio 1 (UK). |
The Allman Brothers Band – Jessica Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Tonight, on Top Gear...!" |
Kaiser Chiefs – The Angry Mob Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Woo, first comment! Anyway, I love this song. I bought the CD today, and there's like 6 tracks I love (not that the other 7 aren't great, I just prefer those 6). The Angry Mob is one of those 6. |
The Smashing Pumpkins – In My Body Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love how the guitar sounds, reminds me of The Church (awesome yet criminally under-rated Australian band). |
The Standards – Laura Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Easy: High Fidelity |
My Chemical Romance – Kill All Your Friends Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love the sound. Some have said it sounds like Dresden Doll's 'Backstabber', and I have to agree. But I love the guitar "whine" at the beginning and end, reminds me of the Pumpkins. And some of it reminds me of the Pixies 'Where Is My Mind?' Great song. |
Fall Out Boy – Thriller Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think "passport" makes more sense, and it sounds like that's what he says (I assume this is from the AOL Sessions). Anyway, basic answer is that it seems to be about their rise to fame. |
The Killers – A Great Big Sled Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Never mind, found out now lmao |
The Killers – A Great Big Sled Lyrics | 17 years ago |
How does one hear this song? |
My Chemical Romance – Heaven Help Us Lyrics | 17 years ago |
OK, I listened to it more carefully, it does sound more like "nails" and "make a saint of me". Thus I've changed it again :) |
Judge Dread – Big Six Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Lmao. And all it took was a blonde moment courtesy of my mum for me to know about this! |
Cat Stevens – Tea for the Tillerman Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Extras! |
My Chemical Romance – Famous Last Words Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love My Chemical Romance, I love the whole album. Anyone else think this is MCR's "The Show Must Go On"? Similar, I must say. |
My Chemical Romance – Heaven Help Us Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Gothgirl, I've changed them. You got them more right than I did :D |
My Chemical Romance – Heaven Help Us Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. And from what I've heard, the new album will be awesome! My favourite bit of the song is "You don't know a thing about my sins/ How the misery begins" Anyway, fan-girling over (ironic, seeing as I'm in possession of the Y-chromosome), yeah, the song's fairly self-explanatory... kinda... :S |
Stereophonics – The Bartender And The Thief Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Lmao - in the middle of the live version (on Live from Dakota), he just starts singing "The ace of spades! The ace of spades!" |
Mest – Rooftops Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Does the intro remind anyone of the intro to The Cure's Just Like Heaven? But yeah, can totally relate. I used to go on my roof with my mates during the summer til next door phoned the police... asshole. |
Pink Floyd – Dogs Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Just in case anyone knew or cares, the front cover to the 'Animals' album is referenced in Children of Men. Which is a bloody good film! |
The Feeling – Never Be Lonely Lyrics | 17 years ago |
He's criticising couples ("People in love get everything wrong"), but sees the positive side ("At least they're not lonely"), because he's trying to move on from a recent break-up that he hasn't taken well ("Why should I be sane without you?"). |
My Chemical Romance – Welcome To The Black Parade Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Argh bloody hell, didn't even press enter =S Anyway, from what I've heard, there's a story to the album. The Patient has died, more than likely from cancer: - There's a song on the album called Cancer - Gerard Way, on the interview video on www.theblackparade.com, said his new look is modelled after how he imagined The Patient, white hair being similar to someone undergoing chemotherapy. He looks back on his life, contemplating the mistakes and such like in his life. Gerard said that he believes Death comes in the form of however you want it. As seeing the marching band was a strong memory from The Patient's childhood, The Black Parade is how he sees Death coming to get him. |
My Chemical Romance – Welcome To The Black Parade Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It's part of a story. |
Stereophonics – Pedalpusher Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I thought 'Pedal Pusher' might have something to do with their former drummer. |
