Porcupine Tree – I Drive the Hearse Lyrics 14 years ago
Sounds very much like the protagonist is in a really unhappy relationship/marriage that for some reason he can't escape from, so he drinks and pretends he's ok.

"all DT albums start with the sound that ended the last album."

not all of them. This only applies to CDs after Scenes from a Memory

Dream Theater – Where are You Now Lyrics 18 years ago
"Will Jesus catch you when you fall?"
Is probably why this didn't make it to FII.

6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

Thoe are steps 6 and 7 as outlined by the AA program.

Dream Theater – Don't Look Past Me Lyrics 18 years ago
This song just screams Jesus. There might be a reason that this was left off Falling Into Infinity.

Dream Theater – Disappear Lyrics 18 years ago
Possily a connection with Vacant and the second section of Octavarium? This song could deal with comatose rather than death.

And the section at the end where LaBrie recites and sings the lyrics occasionally sends shivers through my spine.

Dream Theater – As I Am Lyrics 18 years ago
"Secondly: If you listen to the beginning, in my opinion this song syncs up with the end of Losing Time/Grand Finale---so is there any relation to these two songs, or am I just drawing loose connections?"

From what I can tell, this was intentional. The Glass Prison and Finally Free have the same static noise at the beginning/end respectfully. Also, In the Name of God and The Root of All Evil both start/end with the same note respectfully as well.

However, there isn't a lyrical connection between the two.

Interesting find, EZEebs. I was always wondering if this song is composed of parts from the restof the songs on the album and Metropolis pt1, but I've been too lazy to look extensivly.

Better than its counter-part.

Dream Theater – Just Let Me Breathe Lyrics 18 years ago
I think that this song actually takes a shot a Cobain. The lines,

"Shannon Hoon and Kurt Cobain,
Make yourself a household name, yeah-yeah"

"Until you kill yourself
And then the sales go through the roof
Calculated, formulated"

say that Cobain got more popular and more recognized after his death, and this song makes it sound like a publicity stunt.

Nightwish – Ghost Love Score Lyrics 19 years ago
I didn't like the singer's voice the first time I heard it, but this song has definatly grown on me since then. I'm going to have to check out some more stuff by Nightwish.

Dream Theater – Octavarium Lyrics 19 years ago
I love DT's longer songs and this was no dissapointment. A couple things though, I believe "First" "Second" "Third" etc... are said before each stanza in section IV.

Another thing of note: The music in the section where "Medicate me
Infeltrate me
Side effects appear
As my conscience slips away" is sung is in other songs on this album. I consider that section the theme of the album. Its other apperances are at the end of "The Root of All Evil" and about 2:42 into "The Answer Lies Within". There areprobably more appearances of this melody, but I haven't found them yet.
