The Avett Brothers – A Lover Like You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
the but yooouuuu part vaguely reminds me of The Lion Sleeps Tonight, if you know what I mean |
Dispatch – Bullet Holes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i believe it's "I wander these steep hills into the grey light" |
Brett Dennen – Darlin' Do Not Fear Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i believe it's "So bury your burning hatred like a hatchet in the snow" |
Vienna Teng – Transcontinental, 1:30 a.m. Lyrics | 16 years ago |
clearly, this song is about two people who live far apart. The narrator wants to be in a relationship despite the distance, but finds herself feeling farther and farther away from her loved one. |
Dave Matthews Band – Sugar Will Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Here are the lyrics as best as i could get from the Golden Gate Park Concert cd with Santana: so what is it? in the middle of this came in to save us oh red was staining and covering, oh I wonder called all this for myself wonder if you knew sugar ain't poison but sugar will kill you too much of a good thing maybe not so sweet what do you think about that? I came in, maybe, bit too late and stinking, you said of something holy and either way to solve this, really matters oh drumming out try to find for myself whatever come rain empty space, I fell for myself I wonder if you knew sugar ain't poison but sugar will kill you too much of a good thing maybe not so sweet what do you know about that? And all of a sudden you were screaming came scratching in, love, all of these Oh, I thought, must be dreaming it's not like you but oh then I've done it all by myself still it seems surprising, oh then broke the wall by myself still wonder how you knew sugar ain't poison but sugar will kill you too much of a good thing maybe not so sweet I think it has to do with relationships. Too much of a good thing maybe not so sweet is realizing that what he thought would make him happy (or make the other person happy) is really not what that person needed. |
Dispatch – The Way It Goes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think the song can be seen in two ways. I'd say it is really not about sex but rather growing up and leaving home. "so that i don't forget how to sit like a child on my mothers knee how dare that child be me " is relating to childhood, etc. "and trot trot to lynn and trot all the way home again but don't let me fall in " is about leaving home and living life. the chorus "slipping through your legs" is just about childhood slipping away. the "race me up the loft" verse also relates to childhood memories. If you want to interpret it about sex/relationships you can see that it might be about a guy who is afraid of falling in love. "trot trot to boston....don't let me fall in" could relate to a long distance relationship (one where he must travel to these different places to see her) and "don't let me fall in" could mean 'in love' this notion is reiterated in "let you be an arms length away so you can wake me and tell me of the day" |
James Figurine – Apologies Lyrics | 17 years ago |
naturally, this song is about forgiveness and being able to understand that although your friends can make mistakes and hurt you, if they are genuinly sorry then they deserve your forgiveness. Also, grammatically I believe the line is "The words aren't worth THEIR meanings" |
Vienna Teng – Recessional Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think this is about the parting of two people who are very close. The speaker is shattered by the parting but it is out of her hands. As the second person sleeps in the airport terminal the speaker can do nothing but stay awake thinking about the future, and eventually the inevitable happens and "she" has to leave. |
Dave Matthews Band – Trouble with You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I think the lyrics are wrong and it's "In fact sure as God is a monkey's dream There aint that much room to believe what he see." |
Dave Matthews Band – Out of My Hands Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think it's just a song about having a decision made for you that you had no control over, where you feel bad because the majority went against what you felt was right, but you have to go on and hope for the best...probably about the election as HDFan said but it could transcend into anything |
Dave Matthews Band – Dreamgirl Lyrics | 19 years ago |
what does it mean by "after a good good drunk" though, thats the only line that confuses me |
