The Postal Service – Brand New Colony Lyrics 19 years ago
well the thing that really strikes me about the lyrics is the impossibility of the first half of every line, and the its following. for instance, he physically cant be fermented grapes, but he can be a perfect gentleman; he cant be a brick wall but he can be there so she can contemplate her day, et c. it just shows his ambition toward how he really wants to treat her and what he can do in reality to prove his love. it's a beautiful song and everyone wishes it was dedicated to them.

Interpol – Slow Hands Lyrics 19 years ago
upon first listening, i wasn't too fond of the cd, i mean it was good, just not as good as i anticipated. but the more and more i listen to it, and the more i look at the lyrics, the more i'm in love with it. (and i don't use the word "love" lightly). i especially love that they use the word myriad in the correct from (and don't put the word "of" after it...as is commonly done). brilliant.

The Dandy Warhols – Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth Lyrics 19 years ago
this song is ironic, and yes, it could possibly be influenced by their relations with the brian jonestown massacre, who dabbled in dope quite frequently. this song is about someone who does heroin "just to be cooler in an obvious way". so they began shooting up to be cooler, and now they are addicted, which wasnt the plan, and now, the fad is over and it's passe. so the person who originally did heroin because it was "in" is now addicted to it, and now it's "out". it's really quite funny.
