I hate AI, but the first time I heard this guy sing I new he would me a huge star. His album is really good. I was afraid he would put out some puff pop album, but it is not that at all. This is a good song and is, as was mentioned, self explanatory. My only complaint is that all of the songs are that way. I usually like music where the meaning is sometimes hidden, but that is just me... |

Hmmm....well, considering that 85% of Americans consider themselves to be Christians, not to mention that there are over 1 billion RC in the world, common sense does not support your statement. Of course, it doesn't support your faith either, but that fact obviously means little to you. |

Well, this song is obviously about a recently ended relationship. "Sad as it may be I'm glad it's over finally."
Contrast the beginning of the relationship -
"Never said you'd promise anything. Never told to trust you blindly. Never thought you'd push me away." with the end of the relationship - "Never was I stronger than I'm now. Never felt this much a fool somehow. Never had much thought for myself."
I suppose that if there were one thing we could take away from the composers experience it would be that if both parties do not agree from the beginning on what type of relationship they want, one of them will end up saying "Never should've wept when you let go. Never thought you'd push me away." |

This song speaks of the composers need (as opposed to want) for that 'special someone' in his life who has either recently departed or is contemplating doing so. "Stay, I need you here for a new day to break. Stay, I want you near, like a shadow in my wake."
The line "It's the little things, little things, little things, that make the world" is especially poignant, especially as it pertains to relationships. |
