The Beatles – Abbey Road Medley Lyrics 19 years ago
I totally agree... the medley is utterly gorgeous. I love trying to make people try and identify when the tracks change... it's impossible. I love how Paul carries some of the major riffs all the way through, like the carry that weight tune and the "you never give me your ...." tune. It's also interesting that Ringo's only drum solo with the Beatles is on this medley, during "the end", i think. It's not very intriquite but its well done and solid, like his drumming as a whole. I think that "You Never Give Me Your Money" is the greatest song on the album, its very complex in terms of rhythm, etc. "Polythene Pam" and "Mean Mr. Mustard" are two seperate songs but John ties them together by making Pam and Mr Mustard sister and brother. "Golden Slumbers" is a wonderful song, great piano part, one of Paul's best love songs.

The Beatles – You've Got to Hide Your Love Away Lyrics 19 years ago
Yeah this song is definitely influenced by Bob Dylan, with whom the Beatles were chillin alot during the time. It is very similar in its mournful tone and writing style to early Dylan and "I'm a Loser". This is really a great song, solid writing and well recorded.

The Beatles – Happiness Is a Warm Gun Lyrics 19 years ago
yeah, whoever said that Paul screaming during the song was the best part probably ought to relisten to it or might have the wrong song.... Happiness is a warm gun is completely John. Good try fools. And anyone who said the song was about herion is way off also. Lennon said in an interview that "H" was not part of the song and that most of the meaning was sexual, about Yoko, etc.

Bob Dylan – Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts Lyrics 19 years ago
This might be way off but i always just thought that Rosemary took out the bullets of Jim's gun because it was a "cold revolver", meaning it wasn't hot and loaded. I've never seen the Jack of Hearts as dying in the end nor Lily dressing like Rosemary but since the "lily had already taken all the dye out of her hair" line always confused me, that could work. I could very well be wrong.
