Beck – Nicotine & Gravy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It captures both the repulsive and hedonic urges of sex. The chick is vulgar, foreign, illegal, and lustful. In a word, taboo. love it. He sounds like Prince/Marvin Gaye on most of Midnite Vultures, especially this song, but i can't help loving it. (sigh) guilty pleasure. |

yeah its beautiful, timeless. I wonder who he wrote it about...Leigh Limon? maybe Winona Ryder? anybody know? |
Beck – Johnny Depp Lyrics | 19 years ago |
hold up...beck actually wrote this? which album is it on? Doesn't sound like hes much of a johnny depp fan; "He's totally pregnant with his own self Opening his pores like a thousand cameras Spraypainting everybody with his breath" or like he has some latent homosexual attraction to him; "tell me what its like to be your girl." |
Queens of the Stone Age – Little Sister Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Björk – Desired Constellation Lyrics | 19 years ago |
all i keep thinking about when i listen to this song is tarot cards, or astrology, hence desired constellation...or an eight ball. We keep playing this game of chance until we get what we want to see, the desired constellation. It makes you feel somehow in control..when you really aren\'t. |
Queens of the Stone Age – Everybody Knows That You Are Insane Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Queens of the Stone Age – Go With The Flow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The video, btw is a perfect representation of my theory. Heres the link in case any of you haven't seen it: http://qotsa.com/flash.html (not a direct link; go to "media" then "album", "songs for the deaf", and then "go w/ the flow" your missing out if you dont see it, its awesome! |
Queens of the Stone Age – Go With The Flow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
to me the essence of the song is about "casual sex" or a sexual/casual relationship and how that can be more meaningful than a "real relationship" where we're all "little soldiers in a row, falling in and out of love." The female in the song is obviously alot more loose and free when it comes to sex, she doesn't care about commitment"throws herself away" He can't seem to "wash her off his skin, and he can't make her hang around, I'm assuming the morning after... This casual relationship is reckless and adventurous, "a new mistake," "something sweet to throw away."He can go with the flow of this relationship, but he doesn't want meaningless sex, "don't say it doesn't matter." it has to be beautiful in a way. In a sense you have to delude yourself in a casual relationship, "do u believe it in your head?" that you can go with the flow. Sometimes people can pretend that sex doesn't matter that its only a matter of the flesh, but i think hes saying theres more to it, something spiritual, but not love persay... Anyway this is my personal opinion, of course, feel free to disagree |

A Perfect Circle – A Stranger Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i'm amazed at all the different interpretations, i was convinced mine was the right one....and i still am.. regardless if the words are fat tomato, fuckin tornado, or phantom maiden; Maynard's obviously expressing alot of frustration. Personally this represents an addiction, which I might add doesn't necessarily have to be drugs....in this case i'd take it as not quite a relationship but the impact this person had on him. I get the feeling that the stranger is quiet and doesn't express himself too much, she(presumably) fades into the background....for fear of being seen, but then is also brimming with anger, passion, and aggressiveness. He is frustrated....which is pretty much the same explanation maynard gives himself. Just read it over and consider it this way |
