Moby – Sunday (The Day Before My Birthday) Lyrics 16 years ago
I know Moby was really affected by September 11th and this album is influenced by it, but the original song "Sunday" by Sylvia Robinson is about a lost love. If September 11th was the inspiration, maybe he liked the idea of a nice day where everything is fine and then the following one was dark and terrible. Not LITERALLY Sunday, but just the day before 9.11.

Either way, it's the best song on the album.

Sia – Buttons Lyrics 16 years ago
I think there are a couple errors in the first verse:

Yes I can see that YOUR carpet is animated
Walk away from me lover, away from me lover
Yes I see open wounds in everyone I’ve dated
Away from me lover, get away from me lover

This song is clearly about someone pushing another person away because they are sure they'll hurt them.

"Open wounds in everyone I've dated"
"Carrying this stuff"
"Ghosts in everything I do".

GREAT SONG!

Lily Allen – LDN Lyrics 17 years ago
This may be naive, but I don't think she's being as negative as many of you think. She's riding a bike around town and seeing all these things happen (good & bad). She says that sights are priceless, sun is in the sky, people having lunch in the park, you might laugh. She also sees mugging and crack whores, but it's her home and she knows that's all part of life in the city and she loves that you never know what you'll find.

Of course, she might also think it's just a complete dump, but since the sun is actually out in London, who cares. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Hem – Half Acre Lyrics 17 years ago
Anyone have thoughts on what this song is about? It seems a little like she is saying that she always has a piece of her home with her, and that makes her feel better. Most of the song talks about thinking/dwelling on all the pain in our lives, but at the end, she brings up the map of Michigan (her home) and how it can open up a dark sky and take away burdens. I might be way off, but either way, I LOVE this song.

Gwen Stefani – Yummy Lyrics 17 years ago
This is one of my favorites on the album. I think it is supposed to be fun and catchy, but I think there is a real meaning behind it, as well. I think she's talking about how she got caught up in her solo career and she doesn't really want to leave it because she wants the applause and adoration from people. Also, "your key won't shine like this if it's yours then you know it won't wind like this" is clearly saying that others who may have copied her aren't as good/successful as she has been. LOVE IT!
