Alright I just looked through lost in hollywood and this song makes alot more sense now. This song is about nobody's that once had short lived fame. It leads perfectly into Lost in Hollywood IMO. |

I love the way these last two songs end the album. They detour from the themes in all the other songs on the CD. I'm thinking they're leading into Hypnotize and that cd will continue on from these two songs and move in a different direction. That's my prediction. Not that I disagree with the political messages in all the other songs on this CD but I really hope that Hypnotize isn't a repeat and has some new themes behind it. |

SOAD is mainstream (at least around here). . Anyway it just cracks me up how they put a simple song like this on their album just to spite someone. That's awesome |

Nine Inch Nails – All the Love in the World Lyrics

expand on this- I have some thoughts on this song but nothing feels all that concrete to me yet:
The first verse seems to fit with a reference to god watching everything and knowing how it all is supposed to work out, but he's saying that all the faces still seem to smear together even in God's eyes as he feels alone in the crowd.
The second verse expands on this expressing how he feels distanced from the world and can't change anything as he can't clearly express himself so others can understand.
The third vers seems to talk about how everthing seems to be clearer and better with faith/religion, but he still feels so alone and distant from everyone.
Why does God get all the love in he world? |

Deftones – Around the Fur Lyrics

"Prostitute climb back down from the floor
Please don't fuck around and die like this 'cause i love her"
Here's how I interpret this part:
'Prostitute' refers to someone that in a sense whores themselves out to the media, goes by the book. Thing of 'the floor' as the stage; the spotlight. Step down from your stage.
On the next line, it's worded like he's speaking to someone- I view it as telling it to himself 'don't fuck around': Don't get involved with the mainstream trend as appealing as it may be. Giving into this is putting on the fur coat. You become infactuated with it and are in a sense dead on the inside as far as your artistic endeavors go as a musician. I'm not sure about this, but it's possible that the last word is "fur," not "her." He doesn't exactly speak his lyrics with perfect pronunciation, so use your imagniation for a second here to hear this out. "cause I love, Fur." to continue the 'don't fuck around' line, he's telling himself to stay away even though the Fur of the coat is appealing to his eyes. He loves the attention, but it will kill him!! |
