| it's R&B, not metal (or whatever variation of rock music you listen to. i'm gathering you're not into R&B or Hip-Hop with an ID like that..). a song doesn't have to be overly complex to be good. i'm a musician myself and a fanatic of many different styles of music. if i were to just look at the actual musical complexity of this song and not be able to relate, in some way, to the lyrical content...then yes, this song would be just another pop song. when you break it down that way. however, if everything sounded the same (or at least to your musical standards may be) and never deviated from a specific formula or method of composing music, music would be (pardon my french) fucking boring and we wouldn't have half the bands/musicians creating stuff that we ALL listen to. | |

| it goes both ways! in fact, girls can be even more evil and heartless when it comes to cheating. could this song have done without the expletives? perhaps, but when you're in that situation...you're not really concerned about offending anyone. i mean, let's face it...it sucks to get cheated on. it's funny. this song came out about a month after i had broke up with my ex, so it was perfect timing for me. it actually helped me get thru everything...well this song and the person i met shortly after (and married because she's awesome!). | |

capitalism and consumerism.. and it's effects on american society. very smart song...still rings true over here (sadly). i don't think it has anything to do with terrorist attacks though. "now the excess of fat on your american bones will cushion the impact as you sink likke a stone" is more metaphorical. to me that line, more or less, means "one day you'll get yours"... you know... karma... |

Well, I doubt this song would be about a dog... the fact that there's a repeated line ("You put on a wonderful show") leads me to believe that this song is, in fact, relating to Paul Hester who suffered from bipolar disorder. definitely a big loss.... on another note, i love neil's wife's backing vox on this track.... definitely one of the better tracks from Together Alone . |

This song about an ex-manager. let's clear something up too.... Freddie Mercury was a very talented songwriter...regardless of his sexual preference. my opinion on this aspect of his life being discussed is simply this: we should be focusing more on his songwriting ability and musicianship...not who he decided to bed with.... can we all just lay off that? seriously. one last thing. thank you mltm for posting the complete lyrics :) |

first off, as with any cursive song...this song is amazing. ok, now what i think this song is about. it's a breakup song from the point of the "dumpee" basically. the song builds with each stage and ultimate demise of the relationship. ultimately, this subject turns to "cutting" because the pain of losing that person has become too much to bear any longer. |
