lyric correction: "A Muslim sleeping with the jinn"
jinns are evil spirits in Muslim/Arab folklore. the lyric is akin to sayig somebody's sleeping with the devil.

whether jimi wrote this about drugs or not, this is one of the most pure love songs out there, imho. the lyrics are short and don't try to take the metaphor too far. the music itself is . . . jimi effing hendrix. it's beautiful. sometimes i go to sleep to this song, i put the song on repeat and just drift off to this wonderful piece of rock artistry. |

I've personally always gotten a feeling that this song is about a female stripper. It kind of has a forbidden, lustful, feel to it. Whatever it's about, I absolutely love the song. I first listened to it waiting for my bf alone in the car at night, which just sent chills down my spine! |
