The Doors – Touch Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Like others have said, the real lyric was originally "Hit me" and if you change the lyrics the song makes more sense - C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon now Hit me, babe. Can't you see that I am not afraid. That line is pretty straight forward... He's telling her "go ahead hit me", perhaps he's done something wrong? What was that promise that you made. Why won't you tell me what she said. She promised this other woman that she wouldn't tell him what it is that he did wrong perhaps? maybe this other woman said he was unfaithful. I'm gonna love you Till the heavens stop the rain. I'm gonna love you Till the stars fall from the sky For you and I. Here he's doing what all guys have to do in this moment - profess your love for your woman and reassure her that you love her and would never screw around with someone else. Just my take on it! |

Yeah the lyrics on this site are ridiculously wrong... "Sweet memory will die?" wtf???? Great song, however. |
Weezer – Freak Me Out Lyrics | 18 years ago |
As everyone knows, Rivers' songs all have a deep meaning... I mean, there is no way on the first couple of listens to Butterfly would you get that the song is about a one night stand... Same with this song, on the surface, it appears to be about someone you meet in the street freaking you out, but....... |

No, I am not generalizing people from the middle east. I'm saying that public opinion right now is not "I know you dont mean no harm", which is why I believe the song is not about that at all. |

I think the line "i know you dont mean no harm" safely excludes this from being about middle easterners. |
Weezer – My Best Friend Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's about Rivers' dog. |
Weezer – The Damage in Your Heart Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I rank MB ahead of Blue but second to Pinkerton (Pinkerton will never be topped)... This song is outstanding, his vocals on this album is incredible. And one thing I noticed with this album that has been missing on everything since pinkerton, and that is Rivers singing the chorus differently during the song. If you notice on Maladroit and green every chorus is identical. On Blue and Pink, he always altered teh way he sang it. This is the first album since then that I believe Rivers' is wearing his heart on his sleeve. |

great song... Probably the best vocals I have heard from Rivers... EVER. Great job guys. |
Weezer – Everybody Wants a Chance to Feel All Alone Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I dont believe the song is about "literally" killing his girl. I think its more of a metaphore for "killing" the relationship. For one thing, he uses kind words when describing her (such as "likes me best", "Darling" ). Also, the line "All for love, you suffocate" has nothing to do with her "choking", but rather her suffocating Rivers by telling him "what to drink, not to smoke" etc. etc.... and she is doing this because she loves him so much. And finally, choking on your tears.... This is a dead on 100% acurate description of someone crying uncontrollably. Especially when you consider he killed the relationship with someone who was as in love with him as this song describes. |
Weezer – I Don't Want Your Lovin' Lyrics | 19 years ago |
With a little work in the studio it would be an outstanding song. The chorus needs some work. Overall, its a good song. |
Midtown – Susanne (Weezer cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Yes Jamie was written about Weezer's lawyer for their record label. Susanne is about their agent and how much they appreciated everything she did for them, even though they wre a nobody early on. |
Dashboard Confessional – Jamie Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Man, you guys who say the DC version is better really have to listen to the weezer accoustic version. And to the fella who said that weezer's harmonies were off key - First off, there version was recorded live in a high school caffeteria - DC's was recorded in a studio where misteakes can easily be corrected. Secondly, how silly could DC be to change the ending lyrics? The whole moving part of the song is how Rivers ends it with "it hurts me so much, it hurts me so much...I love you so much, I love you soooooooo much" |
