This song reminds me of an article I read in an old Woman's Day today. It was about a lady who met a guy at UNI and lived with him for a few years, until they split-up when it didn't work out. About 20 years on, when she was happily married with 4 beautiful children and a perfect relationship with her husband, she ran into him again at the shops one-day and was drawn-in by her old love for him. She ended up leaving her family for him, and moved over-seas, but after the craze was over he started to show his old bad qualities, and she deeply regretted leaving her perfect family. Even though her husband still loved her, he wouldn't take her back after what she had done. This is basically what this song is about, and even though it is really old I think it is beautiful and so sad. |

This is such a beautiful song... "it's not always rainbows and butterflies... etc..." is a really beautiful line (like 50 ppl wrote that also though).
I am pretty sure this song is not about a prostitute (as some people brought up) coz the album is about Adam's ex Jane and as far as I know she isn't a hoe. Anyway I think it is about someone who was pushed to grow up 2 early, and is really insecure.
