LOL, the old man is the grim reaper. He is the one who makes the dogs bark and cast shadows across the windows, ect ect. the first lines about the thunder and lightning and then later about the river shows that the reaper has control of the natural world (life, death, weather and nature) You got to hide. hi de hi ded hide, From death cause its always right down the road. The rattlesnake suitcase is just a line to show that he is a bad MF. |

also "need another chance" implies addiction it doesnt say "I want another chance" IMO, if i was to say I needed a girl, then I would have had to have been with her before, otherwise you would just want the person. Need to me implies that there is something about her in which you depend, which would not be possible in a fantasy girl or at least one in which he hasnt had any prior experinces with. |

OK, i still think she brings the band drugs. If not, if it is just about a girl, redhead or not... is she his? or the drummers? cause the drummer is waiting for her but he says he wants to live with her.... I dont think he wants the drummers girl, I think it is metaphoric for something they will be sharing. like some drugs. also, why would pa sending money be giving him another chance? he is not spending the money on a date with the drummers girl, he is going to buy another fix. another "chance" at happiness through the euphoric feeling induced by DRUGS. |

This song to me is about revolution in a sense. It is obviously about a confrontation between to people or forces. To me it is the government and the freedoms of the people. I know you're out there You're in hiding And you hold your meetings Tells me that this is not the first confrontation and that the opposing force will hinder the happiness of the other group/person. The band says it about standing up for what you believe. my interpretation is standing up for your rights and freedoms which are being taken by our own governments. |
