R.E.M. – Bandwagon Lyrics

Probably my favorite R.E.M. song due to the bizarre chord progression; It's a lot of fun to play on a guitar...
This song was released on "Dead Letter Office" a few months before "Document" came out and propelled R.E.M. to stardom. I've always felt that this song referred to the growing popularity of the band and the critics and fans jumping on the R.E.M. bandwagon after "Life's Rich Pageant". Kind of ironic that they achieved superstar status over the period of their next 3 albums. |

The Mamas & the Papas – Creeque Alley Lyrics

www.creequealley.com breaks this song down line by line. It's essentially a reference to the history of the band and some of their former bands/bandmates (John Sebastian and Zal Yanovsky of Lovin' Spoonful for example). |

Pavement – Frontwards Lyrics

"Stolen rooms, or the alloy of chrome "... actual lyric is "stolen rims are they alloy or chrome".
Probably my favorite Pavement song... Like many of their early songs though, it's pretty hard to say what it is actually about. To me it appears to be a song about unrequited love... |
