this was the first song by conor that gave me the idea that he could have irish ancestors, don't know why, it's not only the music but the spirit of good-bye which is typical for a lot of irish folksongs. does anybody know if he is related to ireland somehow? well, about the song, I can hardly explain what I see. there is a notion that touches everyone who knows how it feels to be alone and far away from a place he can call home. |

I think it great that Ronan Keating covered the song once again with Cat Stevens. Once he said that Cat was his childhood idol. oh my, it must be strange to sing this song with your idol, and even more strange with someone who said he will never sing these songs again. |

when first listening to this song I thought I had never heard such a shit, I was really disappointed for a minute or two. but this is what makes the brilliance of the song. it's like a zip, transforming an awkward chaos of threads to a symphony bruckner would have envied. it has the brute force of a lament, the intensity of madness, the despair of yearning. the excellence in this song emanates from waste, just like life, where good emanates from evil. did I say, that I love this song? well, it's one of the best things that have ever come near my ears and my soul. have faith, no matter in what. |
