The first few tracks on "Sea Change" sound to me like Beck is still loves with the person who's breaking up with him. So probably, this song is about someone who still loves someone who doesn't care about him anymore. That's the worst kind of heartbreak. |

What is it that Peter says at the beginning? It sounds to me like "Hi there," but the lyrics in "So's" booklet say "Suc cess." What is it? |

The album certainly is quite good, and this is one of the best tracks. I'd bashed it before, but nonetheless I guess "Don't Believe The Truth" is a grower. For me, the songs are best when you're actually listening to them.
As for the meaning... well, it's apparently modeled after Bob Dylan, so probably it has no actual meaning, but the word "phonies" suggests "Catcher In The Rye," and certain other bits help it out, but it's too upbeat. So it has no meaning. |

I don't get how the guys could hate this song. I think it's the best on the new album; DBOT is kinda lackluster. I've only bought "(WTS)MG" and "Don't Believe The Truth," and of course "(WTS)MG" is better, but... Again. This song's great. Why the Gallagher Brothers don't like it is beyond me. |

I know deep down, this song is kind of meaningless, but I like to think it's about growing up. It just sums up a lot of my feelings on the subject, which is nice because I don't think I've gone through it completely yet. |
