Incubus – Black Heart Inertia Lyrics
|
I heard this song on the radio the other day and to be honest I didn't really like it. But since its Incubus, I had to give it another chance when I got home and I'm glad I did.
From the lyrics, it sounds like Brandon is a bit Jaded from the usual dating scene and hoping someone comes along that will make him want to willingly change his perspective on things.
I get it, this song pretty much hits home with the average person that's been single for awhile.
Pulled by a false inertia
Pushed out by circumstance
Pistol firing at my feet
That’s coercing me to dance
Those lines really stuck out for me, I'm really not a fan of dancing, but you have to play the game and go along with it sometimes. Awesome lyrics.

John Butler Trio – Devil Running Lyrics
|
Well, firstly I think I messed up the lyrics.
But I'm pretty sure the song is about taking a stand for what you think is right and not letting the evils of the world walk all over the good without a fight.
"and most of us we stand and watch
while the lady gets her handbag stolen
it's time to chase, chase the criminal
I see the devil and the devil is running"
Take a stand against the devil man |

Finger Eleven – Paralyzer Lyrics

hahaha love this song! Reminds me of me when I get dragged out to a club. Im more of a pub guy, and when I get there I'm COMPLETELY out of my element when trying to pick up. Was kinda funny to find myself (a rock listener) at a dance club listening to Finger Eleven. |

tempflux, that was probably the dumbest comment Ive seen on this site ever, and thats saying something. Im not even going to bother saying anything about your "World Police" attitude.
Anyone ever think that these "childish anti-Bush rants" are happening for a reason? Give it a decade and Bush will be remembered as the Tyrant he is, so much blood is on that mans hands its unreal.
Think gas prices don't have anything to do with Bush? Where are the wars happening? Where are the largest deposits of oil in the world? Yeah, same place... weird. |

Coheed and Cambria – Time Consumer Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
This song is about Coheed being told he must kill his children to save the Universe, starting with his twins Matthew and Maria, the youngest, who he gives a poisonous drink. He watches as they play with him before they collapse on the floor and die. In the frame of them laying on the floor dead, he actually says "Maria, my star. Matthew goodnight".
For a website called song meanings theres sure alot of comments that have absolutely nothing to do with it.
Also, when he first enters their room, they both yell "SHABUTIE!". |

Chevelle – Well Enough Alone Lyrics
|
I think its more literal than people are taking it. I think it pretty much asks the question of why people settle for "good enough" and move on to something else instead of putting your everything into what you do. What you end up with is alot of mediocracy and nothing to be proud of. |

Its rediculous how talented these guys are. I kinda wish Brandon wasnt oogled by the girls as much, seems to keep them from getting the respect they deserve as amazing diverse artists. |

Incubus – Dig Lyrics

What a song! I'm thinking that its about the guys in the band always keeping each others feet on the ground and that they'll always be friends no matter what little things each does to bug or "dig" at another. I can see this song being a pretty damn successful single |

I always thought that was a song written to a long time friend at a wedding and how he wished he had a bigger part in his life, but had to settle for the size too small. |

Incubus – A Crow Left of the Murder Lyrics

The name "A crow left of the murder" is a play on words meaning they're left wing when it comes to politics. Murder just fits well when considering the anti-war stance they have against the right wing. |

The Spill Canvas – The Dutch Courage Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
I think alot of people are looking too much into the drugs and alchohol parts of the song. If you listen to it all, it really fits the place of him talking to a person with a low self esteem and asking them why they bother with what people say so much. The chemicals and gin parts are more of him seeing his friend with a low self esteem getting by with things that make him numb |

Dredg – Catch Without Arms Lyrics

|
Geez, this band must have some of the biggest douchebags I've ever seen for fans. Its music, beautiful music at that. Art is ment to be shown to the world, not some 16yr old crammed into a basement who feels that only a select few should hear it. The best thing you can do is show it to anyone you can and maybe they'll like it in their own ways, maybe not. |

Thrice – The Artist in the Ambulance Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
When I was young I was involved in a serious car accident where the car was T-boned and the impact was mostly on my side and i broke my pelvis. I remember it so vividly like it was yesterday when in truth it was over 15 years ago now. I never cried during the time I woke up in the car to screams for me and my friend in the passenger seat.
When my brother showed me this song, I broke down, 15 years later.
When I heard the verse
"Late night, brakes lock, hear the tires squeal
red light, can't stop so i spin the wheel
my world goes black before i feel an angel steal me from the
greedy jaws of death and chance, and pull me in with steady hands
they've given me a second chance, the artist in the ambulance"
I broke down in the middle of the street and cried for the first time. I was taken out the window and put into an Ambulence with FIVE women named Theresa, which is my mothers name. I really think these women were my angels that day and nothing has ever come as close to describing how I felt that day more than this song. |

Dredg – Not That Simple Lyrics
|
This song is about the relationship between this person and a parent. It seems like a bad thing to watch the child move off on their own, but in the end its better for both of them this way. The chorus is him saying that no matter what happens, they always have each other.
Really a nice song and I'm suprised no one else has commented on it |

Team Sleep – Elizabeth Lyrics
|
This is about how much propeganda there is in the USA and how the story is always twisted to fit the need. The paranoia level is so insane that they have everyone eyeing their neigbours as the enemy. The last few words are pretty much saying that there is hope, but only if you want it. |
