Erm, elderlymachanic, you're completely mental if you think a word less song is about death. I wouldn't call a lot of word-less songs death. Whenever I listen to music off the sonic series from the megadrive, I don't scream 'AAAH! DEATH' and run out of my house. And organs are played at weddings too- think about that. This song has no deeper meaning. It's obviously just a joke song played half way between the cd as an intermission- exactly as you would find at a stage performance or sometimes during some older films. They would play cheesy music on par with this halfway through the whatever with the words 'INTERMISSION' on a screen in the case of films. It allowed you to go have a piss or go get a drink while not missing the film. Infact, the Offspring also have an 'Intermission' song which they played halfway through their live set last time they were here. So that's all it is, a cheesy organ version of Jimmy's intro riff put in for a bit of fun. It's great too, I find myself obsessivly listening to it. |

I love this song for the prime reason that it speaks the plain simple truth behind the minds in nearly everyone nowadays. People decide almost entirely at random or at least when x does something that'll get him some money (and who doesn't want money? We need it to survive, and more of it is just dandy) that 'omg u r a sell out i h8 u' and go listen to the next big underground act. It's apparent now with most other bands, ie People who used to like slipknot almost obsessivly now turn to mushroomhead becuase slipknot are 'sell outs' and mushroomhead are 'keeping it real, and underground man'. And yet while thye're doing this, they're wearing the latest fashon, drinking the coke they just bought from their local wallmart, and after they listen to their new cd of elite underground indie music (which they bought from hot topic) they'll go around to macdonalds with a few friends. It's not about being a sell out or not, it's about who it's cool to like and it's uncool to like bands who make money. |

it does have something to do with what they're talking about, mosquitogod. Think about it. Serj is talking about how we're destroying earth and we should be preserving it, and Daron is singing 'good bye blue sky' as in he's (or rather Pink Floyd were) predicting that we're going to lose this clean earth with the beautiful sky thanks to pollution. He's saying farewell as if we'll never see it again. Also Reverand Chris, fly away troll. |

I reckon this song is about how America will attack a country if it's useful towards the growth of it's culture or will pretty much just cause a full blown war on an entire country just becuase one part of it is a bit off the good/evil scale. Also it talks about how people will generalise all people of a race as evil if one person does a bad thing, for example take this whole 9/11 tragedy. We all found it was Osama Bin Laden's doing and we all hate him for it, which is fine. However a giant amount of us hated all of the people of afghanistan just becuase of this one evil man and his army, and not only that, but we were encouraged to. 'Their only mistake was being born here' really portrays both of them. as does 'Country without a race, formed of people you disgrace'. This song has a lot of depth to it so it also brings on the pointlessness of war and how easy it can sometimes be to get away with kidnapping or assassination- well I'm not certain on that point, I suppose I'll have to think about it for a bit longer. |
