Matt Nathanson – Laid Lyrics 18 years ago
A decent song with decent lyrics about a guy who is with a woman and she's driving him nuts. He want to leave her, but there's still too much love there. Thats ok tho, cause in another few years he'll hate her and that'll be that. lol
Not the greatest song in the world, but certainly not the worst.

Bruce Hornsby – The Way It Is Lyrics 18 years ago
I think color bar is symbolic of white and black peoples.

"Said hey little boy
you can't go where the others go
'Cuz you don't look like they do
Said hey old man
How can you stand to think that way
And did you really think about it
before you made the rules

He said, son

That's just the way it is
Some things will never change
That's just the way it is
Ah, but dont you believe them"

I believe this is a poor black man talking to his son saying he can't do this or that, but also saying that he really can if he tries..

Howard Jones – No One Is To Blame Lyrics 18 years ago
I have no idea what the song is truely about - I guess it takes on a special meaning to each listener. I graduated HS in 1986 and the best times of my life were from that decade, it was wonderful! Only prob isnow, is that I'm 38 years old!!! LOL

James Taylor – Fire And Rain Lyrics 19 years ago
I first heard this song in the late 1970's/early1980's. At that time, I was able to get it either on a 45 or record album. This was my mothers favorite song. She died in 1988 when I was 20 and the day of her death, this song came on and I had to pull off the road and cry. We had a two day wake for her and the song came on both days and the day we buried her, the song also played. I still can't listen to this song, no matter how great it is, it just makes me so sad. :(

Being a HUGE Zep fan, I love this song, but I always change it because its just too long and monotonous for me. lol

The Kinks – Destroyer Lyrics 19 years ago
Yeah, I agree, this is definitely about paranoia with possibly some psychosis thrown in for good measure. We did a video on this song back in the early 80's I think...Video was great and funny as heck cause no one could act..lol

Ten Years After – I'd Love to Change the World Lyrics 19 years ago
I don't think a whole heck of a lot of people even know this song exists for some reason. I first heard it in the early 80's when my father was digging through his record collection, playing me all sorts of songs from the 60's and 70's. At the time, I thought the song truely awesome and I still do..
Just a few weeks ago, when visiting, I popped in the cd and the old man (65 yrs old) grabbed the remote and cranked it throughout the house..It was great..:)

Otis Redding – (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay Lyrics 19 years ago
Has anyone actually *read* the lyrics?? LOL...Anyway, I agree with kilihila, this isn't a happy song at all. It seems as though he had high expectations and he even states that it looks like nothings ever going to come his way...
Chris
PS: The Song isn't really about Georgia...He LEFT Georgia for the Frisco (San Francisco Bay That is)
