Talk Talk – Life's What You Make It Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is encouraging two main themes that greatly correspond to transcendentalism. First, it is endorsing non-conformity in that it is telling people to see the world through their own eyes and heart, not through those and ideas of others. It’s also suggesting free thought in that it implies that there is no universal reality, only individual perception—that you create your own experience and that your own personal experience should not be clouded by judgment and ideas of society and other people. Life’s what you make it, celebrate it. Live in the now and don’t let the negatives of the past stop you and your heart’s desire for happiness.

Limp Bizkit – Behind Blue Eyes (The Who cover) Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's an OK cover. It makes Fred Durst actually sound nice. None of this I have knives lodged in my balls song that you get from almost everything else he puts out. LB's cannot compare to the Who's, but its pretty good if you take it for waht it is. Plus I love the bonus song you get on the Album version of Behind blue eyes. Too Bad Durst can't put out some good stuff like BBB on his own.

I so agree with Opinion Head.. I never was a fan of Limp Bizkit, either. I think Fred Durst sounds like he's been kicked in the balls when he sings. But this terrible song rocks.

Mode000, pull your homophobic head out of your homophobic and ignorant ass. this music is poetry beyond what this earth seems possible, the music video brings me to tears everytime I see it. The song it great enough without the visual aide, I go back and fourth.

Madonna – Nobody's Perfect Lyrics 19 years ago
The lyrics are failrly self explanatory. It stretches a little into the deeper end of the song's spectrum in the lines: "I was dishonest, I will do my best"

Marilyn Manson – Disposable Teens Lyrics 19 years ago
by ethong2002 on 05-03-2002 @ 01:40:37 AM
I think this song is also about the treatment of teens and our involvement in society. We are shunned, thrown away, ignored, and used merely as marketing tools so corporations can steal our minds. Is Manson the only person who can see this. WAKE THE FUCK UP AMERICA!

Exactly, exactly, exactly. Manson is brilliant in his ability to communicate the raw truth better than most everyone else.

Marilyn Manson – This Is The New Shit Lyrics 19 years ago
A sensible Manson will look deeper into his songs than just the "fuck" count, the "sex" count, the "drug" count, the screaming, the sound, etc. He has a message and it's when you start to grasp it that you can appreciate him more. But for those of you that just want his songs just cause they can scream muthafuckin' ready better than you'll ever be able to, enjoy. Ignorance can be bliss. Atleast for those who are ignorant.

Smash Mouth – Fallen Horses Lyrics 19 years ago
One of the more gorgeous songs I've ever heard of. This album, and this song specifically went under the MTV radar under-detected and underappreciated. This song has got to deal with death, the unknown, the fear and longing for it, the sense of being at piece with it in a weird and incomprehendable way. When I hear this song I picture a unicorn and a sunset. Somehow a person of the equivalent-of dreaming of death and a better place. To truly liberate oneself from being stuck to this earth.

Pink Floyd – Lost for Words Lyrics 19 years ago
The Entire Division Bell is full of this same great theme of reminiscence and closer, at least to me. Closure, but not without its few holes in the picture. This song is one of the best by PF, the whole album epitomizing the extent of the bands potential in the post-Waters stage. For since I was 6 and the album came out and was old enough to know it, I've wished they would've made another. It would've been tough to top the division bell, though.
In this song, the lines:
" Beyond your tunnel vision reality fades /
Like shadows into the night " speak to me the loudest. What a gorgeous arrangement of words.

Pink Floyd – Coming Back to Life Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree with what's been said above. I don't judge my PF fandom on stupid reasons. Specifically the post-Waters period vs. the Waters Period... I judge everything fairly and I absolutely agree that TDB is my fav album of them all. And it's not becuase I'm 16 and this is the only album that was squeezed out in my generation; I love all of floyd's works. It's all genious in some form or another. But its amazing when you compare TDB with say the Wall.. it's almost a totally different band. Coming Back to Life is my fav song after Poles Apart. like Animal Chin, it grabs by the balls and doesn't let go. The Divison Bell is full of its magic: Great Lyric + Amazing Sounds.

Pink Floyd – Poles Apart Lyrics 19 years ago
Definitely what's been mentioned before, first half about Barret, his golden attributes and importance to the band and after he was gone, an enduring source for inspiration. Second, obviously he's singing out to Waters. I love this song in that it brings an imensely deep emotional closure to what seems decades of brokenness between Gilmour and Waters. This is my favorite Pink Floyd song of all time, and it didn't take many listens or other's opinions to get what this song was intended for. Plus there is the amazing quality that this song can apply to many people and things, really: using that strong emotion as a foundation. The guitar solo melts anything it touches, also.

Third Eye Blind – Camouflage Lyrics 19 years ago
I heard the lyrics jiodek mentioned, that's pretty sweet. I think I agree with togatora moreso than everyone else on what the song is conveying. The ethereal sound and reverbs of the vocals are stunning and convey to me a more optimistic message. The lines mean different things to different people. The title of the song leads most to think that its about people hiding themselves behind their own personal walls of insecurity and what not, but I think its more universal than just that.
From the lines:
"I'll take in anyone who's taking off their camouflage,
I'll take in anyone who's messing up the sabotage"
It shows the respect he has for those who are breaking out of their shells, and helping to make a difference, and doing their own thing. It's showing our tendancy to focus on the negatives in life and waht we can and should do with our positive potential.
