Joy Division – Heart and Soul Lyrics 16 years ago
Perhaps he is referring to his legacy after his envisaged death in the line 'The past is now part of my future'

Blur – The Universal Lyrics 17 years ago
My opinion....! There's a lot of stuff in this song tied to the mood of Britain in the mid 1990s... the optimism of New Labour perhaps gaining power after a long period of Conservative rule, many of us whom couldn't remember anything else. The newspapers turned very pro Labour and it was around the time the National Lottery started to a lot of hype (golf ball in video?). Also (next bit very much my speculation) remember this was one of the biggest selling Britpop albums and Blur cleverly manipulated this album to be as commercial as possible - I kind of very smart irony or maybe too much credit to Blur - debate!

A jolly little number, I'm rather fond of this one :)

Johnny Cash – Ring of Fire Lyrics 18 years ago
To me, the song is simple... The further you go down the road in love, the deeper the implications as you become increasingly engulfed on all levels.

In the last verse, is Morrissey really thinking they are lucky, or not?

Athlete – Tourist Lyrics 19 years ago
I think he's talking about being away from home and someone he cares about. "This European air it always warms my face I wish I could buy some " - perhaps this is reference to a warmer climbate (than Britain).

Moz has clearly spent too long in the USA if he's musing over our grey skies!

Never really got into this song. A highlight on Morrissey's weakest album of all time IMHO

Morrissey – All The Lazy Dykes Lyrics 19 years ago
A wonderful song from Morrissey's latest album. This is what Kill Uncle should have sounded like. The part I find interesting in this song is the reference to 'lazy' dykes, suggesting that the married(perhaps) girl is hard working, perhaps looking after her ungrateful - or at least husband or boyfriend.

"And when you look at me you actually see me" sees her feeling understanding perhaps for the first time.

Morrissey – Let Me Kiss You Lyrics 19 years ago
I like the suggestions here, it's given me a new perspective. My own take is he is describing finding someone, growing older and looks fading, and all the time things never quite seeming perfect. Yet he describes his heart always being open, so there's a sense of long term love for this person. A beautiful song however you want to see it.
