Eric Clapton – Forever Man Lyrics 12 years ago
It sounds like he's saying: "Before I can talk to the boys" instead of "talk to the boss", plus it sounds like he's saying: "Rebel man, rebel man, rebel mmn" towards the end.

Supertramp – Bloody Well Right Lyrics 13 years ago
I always thought they were being sarcastic at someone, like saying... yeah right, you're bloody well right to say about your opinion. I say that because of the of the term bloody which always sounded sarcastic when said. This is only my opinion here and with it you'd say to yourself that I'm bloody well right, which I am in my opinion but not overall in what everybody thinks.

The White Stripes – Little People Lyrics 14 years ago
Jack White talked about taking music and stripping it down to it's most basic form and while doing so I believe he's also looking at it strangely like a learning child. He's making it very simple for anyone wanting to learn to play the guitar to play some cool riffs. He's saying that things aren't as complex as they seem and can be very very simple. If you listen to his songs you'll hear many other bands influence, AC/DC and Deep Purple and ZZ Topp and Nirvina and even Pink Floyd, some which are barely recognizable but the influence is clearly there. Mixed with old style blues and in his own voice it comes off like little boy blues, which I believe was his aim. You can see he wanted to create a family in introducing himself and Meg as brother and sister and often refers to his fans like they're children. You can't look that deep into what he's saying though because I think he's more concerned about the guitar sound. People know Jack's eccentric and it seems like he's just having fun with what he's doing and is keeping things very simple.

Kansas – Dust In The Wind Lyrics 15 years ago
WOW! I always thought this was an innocent little song was about someone riding a dirt bike! And that the band was trying to be a bit deep. That we're all just dust behind the biker taking off. The line that got me was "It slips away, and all your money won't another minute buy." I always thought he was saying "It slips away, and all your money goes to buy a minibike." Saying that another dirt bike rider was born.

Definately a Dire Straits classic... I actually gave this as a reason to my manager when I called out once, told him I think I had droop. He just said okay and wished me well.

I just heard this on Goodfellas again, and was always unsure who did this song. I always thought it was an INXS song! I dunno, it sounds like Michael Hutchence singing.

A great song to listen to when stoned and drunk! It almost sounds like it's a black funk rock band playing and singing it.

Adam Ant – Kings Of The Wild Frontier Lyrics 17 years ago
I don't think he's saying he's an American Indian in anyway, I think he's trying to compare the Antpeople to like that of a modern Indian tribe. That the Antmusic is their tribal music. Adam also had that whole new wave tribal Indian look going to. This is probably their best song and definately my favorite. I always envisioned guys riding around on horses in a circle while people danced in the middle when listening to the drums. Like jimmyjango2000 said this song is the bands anthem.

Great song and a great guitar solo. I'm surprised there's not more comments on this song. It's a classic. The meaning is pretty clear, I often feel like this song myself.

Bachman-Turner Overdrive – Not Fragile Lyrics 17 years ago
Funny thing... rereading the lyrics I always thought the line: "Well, are thunderheads just another cloud" was "Well I thought we had just another crowd". I thought this song (and line) was commenting on their Guess Who fans, saying that they were Not Fragile but instead now hard rock.

Rainbow – Stargazer Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song along with Light In The Black has to do with Richie Blackmore (the Wizard). I believe Ronnie James Dio was angry at him for firing his original band, the original Rainbow line-up which consisted of members of the band Elf. That Dio felt this first line up helped build Blackmore's Rainbow ("the tower of stone") and was just let go in Blackmore's quest for musical excellence ("as he climbs to the top of the world"). I think Dio knew he'd be leaving soon too ("I'm coming home") and was singing from his heart that he won't go down without a fight, from this came the amazing lyrics of the last two songs on the album. I think Dio was very sad for the loss of his band mates and when surrounded by the amazing new musicians added gave it a musical depth that probably even left Dio himself in awe what Blackmore just created. Dio was kept in the band because of his lyrical power and vocal ability thus creating the Rainbow Rising masterpiece. The last two songs on the album are well beyond classic.

Paul Young – Come Back And Stay Lyrics 17 years ago
It's hard to say which is my favorite song by Paul Young, it's a toss up between this and Love of the Common People. The guy had such a great voice I'm surprised he didn't become more bigger then he was on the music scene. I was able to relate to this song much more though of the two.

Kid Rock – Bawitdaba Lyrics 17 years ago
Bawitdba is an African term for someone who takes it up the butt! I could never figure out why Kid Rock would name a song after an offensive term like that, all I could figure is it has another meaning too.

AC/DC – Beating Around The Bush Lyrics 17 years ago
One of my favorite AC/DC songs, Bon's voice is at his best here, one of the coolest riffs I've heard and probably the greatest Angus solo I've yet to hear. An underrated and solid song! If you like this check out the song Back Seat Confidential on their Bonfire collection.

Led Zeppelin – Kashmir Lyrics 17 years ago
If I remember correctly the music of Kashmir can be heard in the movie Bad Luetenant with Harvey Keital. I'm pretty sure that during the movie some guy starts blatantly cursing (rapping): "I'm Gonna Kick Your MotherF**king Ass!" type words while the main riff of Kashmir is played. Anybody remember this?

R.E.M. – Man On The Moon Lyrics 18 years ago
After hearing this song and being a fan of Andy Kaufmans I question everything I'm told. This song puts the question forth: "If you believed they put a man on the moon." NO!! I honestly don't think we ever landed on the moon. You believe whatever you want!! I personally believe Andy Kaufman never died back then, again you believe whatever you want! I believe he pulled off a death stunt. You all can say whatever you want but Andy taught me not to believe everything we're taught and told, even Jesus because as people are waiting for Jesus's second coming there are those who await Andy's return. It's simply all a quest of belief....

Queen – The Show Must Go On Lyrics 18 years ago
It was simply Freddie Mercury's swan song, him saying goodbye to his friends and fans in a grand style. He gave it his all until the end in music and in life and like a true showman he bowed down to his audience and gave us this hauntingly classic song.

The White Stripes – Astro Lyrics 19 years ago
I use to think he said Tesla, as in the band followed by: "Angus and His AC/DC" because his guitar style at the end goes into an Angus Young sort of finale. I mean, the whole song kinda has a punkish AC/DC type feel to it.

Great song, but who exactly is Jack the Ripper in this song? I thought at first it was a song about the famous murderer, then it came to me while watching the song on 'Under Blackpool Lights'. Jack (White) the Ripper, a ripper during the guitar solo.

I remember hearing John Lennon say if the Beatles stayed together they'd have sounded like E.L.O. eventually. I remember as a kid hearing the Beatles influence heavily in this song, seems partially to have been inspired from the Beatles "A Day in a Life".

The Beatles – Revolution 9 Lyrics 19 years ago
I'd say John was just experimenting with sound with Revolution #9 as Pink Floyd done frequently. Maybe John and Yoko were stoned or tripping out just goofing around. Who knows? Maybe it was just some weird Yoko song John pushed threw onto a Beatles album.
