The Honorary Title – Reassemble Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is old, and I'm still the firsy comment? C'mon, people! |
Bright Eyes – The Awful Sweetness of Escaping Sweat Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I'd probably have to say this is my favorite song. Honestly. I know I've said this about a couple other songs, but they don't count. Seriously. |
Gorillaz – Kids With Guns Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Okay... Don't blam me if you don't agree, let alone if it's wrong, but i think it has to do with the US. I'm thinking by the phrase "Kids with Guns," they're referring to GW Bush or the US in general and the war in Iraq. Kids with Guns is supposed to show the irresponsibility, and the desire may be because of the suspected lust for oil, or maybe the need for power. It's a good song. All my base r belong to this. |
Circa Survive – Meet Me in Montauk Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Yah, this song is completely about Eternal Sunshine. I guess the thought was just interesting enough to write a song about. Beautifully done. And I like how the song was rightly named "Meet Me In Montauk," the infamous quote from the movie I will never forget. |
Bright Eyes – First Day of My Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's just an innocent, honest to God love song. |
Bright Eyes – Lua Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think you guys may be only looking at part of the song. I'd like to know how you would suspect it was about coke, considering the first half of the song is all about the feeling of imperfection of sorts. And if you are trying to determine whether it has to do with Conor or not, or if it is about previous coke problem, then you are completely missing the point. |
The Unicorns – Peach Moon Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I completely agree. Just the words that are chosen really give you the feel the Unicorns try to let out, and it's only complimented by the actual /song/ aspect of it. |
The Unicorns – I Was Born (A Unicorn) (First Version) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The songs just saying, basically, "We're The Unicorns, so we're the sh*t." I like the James Bond reference, too. |
The Unicorns – Let's Get Known Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Nah, I think it's just about a couple of friends who decided to becone famous. Maybe an homage to themselves...? |
The Unicorns – The Clap Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think it's sort of just an "audience teaser." The clap is just a joke from their rather clever humor. |
Gorillaz – New Genious (Brother) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I hate to jup on the "drug IS gorillaz" bandwagon, but i think this song is about drugs "Dream of my world/ I live on my world" - Sounds like wanting to get high. "Going off my head, down to, somewhere" He leaves his conciousness to go SOMEWHERE he's unsure. Yep. That's getting high. "I blew a bad man away." He didn't like him, so he blew him away. Duh. "Blew?" That one's just obvious. You tend to forget when you, ahem, get high. "Brother, Sister,/ Don't trust people you meet" Warnings to loved ones not to start because of Them. Who are They? Drug. Dealers. "Dream on the street/ People pass through me" Tch, can you say "Acid Trip?" Go ahead. Say it. "Want my heart to mend..." He doesn't want to anymore, considering he realizes it's threatening his health. Damn Gorillaz. You and... yer... drugs. |
Modest Mouse – Blame It on the Tetons Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The tetons have no real significance. LIke he said, the tetons are just a scapegoat. I suppose he only mentions the tetons because no one knows who they are, so why should it matter? The songs just about not accepting the blame. You blame it on something else. Something else that doesn't matter. You feel better and no one is harmed. The last stanza is just saying that maybe we wouldn't have to lie to ourselves if we just accepted it. |
The Beatles – Hello, Goodbye Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think its about one person whose content with a relationship, but the other person can't accept the way things are. |
Modest Mouse – Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This has to be my favorite MM song. I can't get the damn song out of my head for a while now. |
Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Though, I must say, I am upset that the song hit Kidz Bop 7. The song isn't meant for young, unbeknownst minds. Yer prolly thinking, "RippedPaper13, 5 posts in a row? You have no life!" Yeah. |
Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
One more thing: bLUE_PeNgUiN, don't slander deliriumtrigger just because you don't like his opinion. "Offensive manner" does not call for more offensive manner. You clearly stated that everyone has "their own damn opinion," and he stated HIS opinion. So listen, yeah? Besides, you really shouldn't care. All I'm really trying to say is just listen with an open mind. Don't offend or be offended. Just accept. I was in a similar postion as you before. I reacted the same way. But if you just think with a more open mind, then dealing with bullshit will be that much easier. |
Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Forgot to say it, but "you" refers to deliriumtrigger. |
Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
BTW, I have to say... Eight fuckin' thumbs up to you. Seriously. |
Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Wow, you guys are asses. I am too, but come on. My opinion must seem pretty unimportant by now, but it can't go unsaid. Why get pissed 'cause MM has a CHANCE of going mainstream? Is that a bad thing? The only time you have the right to be pissed is if they change their music FOR the mainstream audience! Then, and only then, will you have permission to rave and rant about. You'd probably think this makes ME an ass, but yes, Float On got me into MM. But the reason is because it's catchy beat and clever lyrics were immediately apparent to me. And now I listen to a lot of their older songs. And about the jerks who listen to MM because it might be "in" : Screw them. That's it. That's all you need. Besides, I have real doubt that Indie Rock will become popular, if at all, soon. People are very much STILL into friggin' Hip-Hop & Gangster Rap. I could "hate" on more people, but I'ma go listen to some fucking Modest Mouse, eh? PS. To all those who hate MTV, watch/get-and-watch FUSE, dammit! |
Jimmy Eat World – Clarity Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The song's about a guy who's been in love with this girl for so long, but she just can't -see- him. He's confronted her before, but she had turned him down every time. So he continues to wait until she decides she wants to be with him. |
