Rufus Wainwright – Low-Grade Happiness Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
The first time Rufus performed this song for an audience was the very first concert of his I attended (or at least that's what he told us) so it has a special place in my heart.
I remember him saying it was about when you have every reason to be happy, but still aren't able to bring yourself there. It's heartbreakingly beautiful. |

Rufus Wainwright – Tiergarten Lyrics

Tiergarten is the German word for 'zoo'. So I just assumed it was about his boyfriend, Jorn, who is German. It really is an adorable song. |

When I first heard this I definitely thought it was a reference to Poe's "Annabel Lee." Glad to know I'm not the only one. |

This is probably my favorite song by A Fine Frenzy. I fell in love with it when I heard them play it live. It just has a really heartwarming message to it and is a beautiful song. |

Wow, this song is describing everything I feel at the moment. I think it's a wonderful song. I didn't really appreciate it until I really felt what it was conveying. |

Does anyone else think the beginning instrumental sounds a little bit like the beginning of "Hallelujah"? I know Damien is a fan of that song so I was wondering if anyone else noticed it. |

I was just listening to it right before I came to look at this and was thinking it sounded like Cold Water. Glad I'm not the only one. |

Basically about people dating others that they aren't really that crazy about just to date. Niel is basically hilarious. I think this is my favorite song by Lemon Demon. |

Rufus Wainwright – Gay Messiah Lyrics

This is an absolutely amazing song! I love that it's kind of a way to stick it to those conservatives and other people who think being homosexual is horrid. Love Rufus for being so ballsy with this song. I actually read the lyrics to my Government class (we had to bring in controversial song lyrics) and my class was completely silent while I had a big smirk while reading it. |

How is it possible that no one has commented on this one yet?! This song is absolutely hilarious! And I agree... they should call him the Weasle. |

Though Rufus is gay, I'd like to naively think that he is singing this song to me. Never really looked into a deeper meaning in it. It's just another breathtaking song that he has beautifully written. |

I just love this song. The line that just gets me is "Though I stand with this rain on my back it feels so damn good to belong." This song is by far one of my favorite by Damien. |

Rufus Wainwright – Go or Go Ahead Lyrics

I am in love with this song. I believe it's his most emotionally charged song. The lyrics alone just kill me. As some know, this song is about his battle with his addiction to crystal meth and the song makes you feel the struggle and the pain of it. It's so beautifully done! |

I just recently went to a play and at the beginning of the last act (the act was about death) they played this song as the people who had died in the play came out to take their spot in "The Eternal", as they refered to it. It was the perfect song for that part and I was about in tears. |

Teddy Geiger – A Million Years Lyrics

I think this is about a relationship with someone that is clearly on the verge of ending. Both of them have changed and though it must end he wants her to know that he still cares for her and will still be there for her.
Definately another beautiful song! |

I adore this song. Probably because it was one of the first songs I ever heard by him when he had the clips of some of his songs on his first site. Oh it's so lovely! |

^ Couldn't have said it better than the previous comment. This is quite possibly one of the worst songs I've heard. And worst of all... the group can't even spell (i.e. Don't Cha'. and Stick Wit U). Not to mention they are way to high on themselves! |

I've always loved this song since I first heard it, but the other day I watched the movie "Closer" and the way they used it was amazing. All they used was the first chords in it, and when I heard those chords, chills went up my spine. They used the beginnging at certain times in the movie, perfect times in my opinion. And those who have heard the song I think can agree that it was used perfectly. I am in awe of that movie now. |

I definately think he's at a wedding and he happens to be the best man, but he's in love with the bride. And he's a little too drunk when he makes the toast... that's what I always thought it was. |

Jamie Cullum is similar I think, a bit more jazzy... but still quite similar.
The first time I heard this song it was on VH1 and I seriously just sat there and was entranced by the beauty of the song. Now sometimes when I listen to it, it makes me cry. It is, in my opinion, the best song I've ever heard. |
