this song angers me...How can anyone be anti-abortion...what about in cases of rape and non-consensual family incest?...this song isn't right. This is just my opinion but I personally hate, hate, hate the thought of God as any kinda figure. If he was to appear in the "Second Coming" then I would lead him to the famine stricken parts of Africa, look at him and sarcastically clap and say "good job...oh great one". If He exists then He's a fool and a coward. |

Tobeearnest, sorry dude but you're full of crap...At the time of writing this incredible track Adam WAS dating Elisabeth but between "This Desert Life" and "Recovering The Sattelites" Elisabeth had broken it off with Adam because she THOUGHT he was screwing around but he wasn't, see the song "I Wish I Was A Girl", that song says it all...Adam said all this himself. I personally believe that the "way upon the mountain where she died..." lyric is a refrence to how Native American people died. Too up to the top of a mountain to die at their peak?? Also, Anthony Kiedis has Native American blood in him so this is plausible. |

I think this song is very U2-ish. I'm not too sure of the meaning behind it but the whole 'negative relationship' part seems about right. Maybe Adam was in love with a girl and she chose another guy...Hence the lyric "Are you happy when you're sleeping? Does he keep you safe and warm?Does he tell you when you're sorry? Does he tell you when you're wrong?" My favourite lyric in this song is: "There's a bird that nests inside you. Sleeping underneath your skin, When you open up your wings to speak, I wish you'd let me in" |

| Amazing song. My favourite CC song without a doubt and very high on my all time favourite song list. I think the song is written about Adam's lady friend who was in a car accident and at the time he was going thru a rough patch hence 'Long December'...My favourite lyric is "...drove up to Hillside Manor some after two AM and a little while about the year..." It paints a nice image in my head. | |
