i think that most of the interpretations of the song are pretty close in that it is the end of a relationship, but i think the situation is that there is two people that actually do still care for each other and they both know it, but they're lives have taken them in different directions, and now they have started to grow apart, and they both know they could try and work it out, but he is saying that he wants her to end it, and he wants her to say she won't care, because he doesn't want to hurt her, and when he say's "there is one thing that i can do nothing about", that is that they both love each other but it just isn't working, where it says there's no attraction anymore, that how they know it's just not working, but when he says "you try to abvoid it, but there's not a doubt", it means she also is kind of i denial about it not working, and i think the best line in the song is when he says: "the months they don't matter, it's the days i can't take, when the hours move to minutes and i'm seconds away", i think that just shows how hard it really is for him, in that the months don't matter because he can't even get throught the individual days...well thats just my take on the song. |

I think the deepest part of the song is where he says "i remember back one year when daddy had no money, mommy wrapped the Christmas presents up and stuck them under the tree and said that some of them were from me, cuz daddy couldn't buy them, i'll never forget that christmas i sat up the whole night cryin", it just shows what eminem has really gone through to get to where he is at. |
