The song opens with a nod to Mathew 5:9 saying blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. This is talking definately about the anti-war movement. And the next obvious bible reference is to the garden. All in all, it was a smart way to protest a war that was supported by Christian fundementalists. Using their beliefs against them. Good song, excellent message. |

aliputtick, Do you think that maybe their is slang going on in the entire UK that you may not have heard? I mean I am sure they try to run everything past you, but perhapse someting might have slipt out. I enjoy the song. I think that Dave's description of the pot head persona is right on. Smoke my mind make me feel Better for a small time(reality has a tendency to come back no matter how high you get or for how long) What I want is what I've not got And what I need Is all around me (You can't see hapiness until you stop looking for it) Reaching searching never stop (see above) This is what the song means to me. I stopped looking for people to keep me floating. The song freaking rocks though. |
