i agree with rivotskickmyhat, mine sort of borrows bits from yours I think its about a spoiled child, who is oblivious to the world, gos through life shitting on other people to get what he wants - thats the silent reproach of a million tear stained eyes - there silent because his so powerful - saying something would just make him turn on them. i think its a sinical view on modern life that almost anyone has all these people that hate them. and so this guy is skating along, doing his thing, then something gos wrong suddenly - the crack in the ice; and he falls from power, his never been out of controll because his had this sheltered childhood at the beggining of the song, so when he falls his completely out of his depth, and he starts to lose his mind (You slip out of your depth and out of your mind). his trying desperately to hold onto his past power, by clawing at the ice, but his guna fall. i think the ice is also kind of a sinical view at modern life, that its cold and stiff and all that. ang p.s. to say it has no meaning is just dumb, im not a pink floyd expert or anything but i dont think they would have wrote the album for the movie - they made the movie for the album. even if im wrong, the song still has meaning. |

mabe instead of winging about how bad your parents are you should see it from the parents side. the dad might be discouraging the kid from going out to a party right before a test mabe the dad got a tinsy bit upset when he found out the kid was skipping to play with his band. mabe the dad was just trying to get his son to get better marks for the sons sake, so he would have a good future. mabe the dad wants the stupid kid to try. but the kid being a moody self obsessed teen takes it all personaly as if his dad hates him or something, or he isnt good enuf, then he starts hating himself coz he feels deprived and unloved. he should be thankful that his father isnt an alcholic loser who bashes his wife or rapes his daughter, or left the whole goddam family. this song is just setting kids against there parents and making everyone miserable. p.s. im not a parent. im 15. |

simple plan are way to negativ for me, not one of there songs make you feel good about yourself or like everything is alright. if this was the only sad / depressed / all alone song on there album then it wouldnt be so bad, but all of them are pretty much the same. the "do you wana be someone else " gets on my nerves the most, they should be telling people to learn to love yourself, or if you dont like yourself do something about it, instead there practicly telling ppl to be insecure sence everyone wants to be like them coz there *rock stars* there trying to make being retardedly depressed and negative "kool" there music isnt good either |
