Tesla Boy – Spirit of the night Lyrics | 14 years ago |
amazing, kept requesting this song at a club till the DJ actually went and bought it! As for the meaning probably about some metropolitan girl with a fancy raven dress on.. |
Third Eye Blind – About to Break Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Possibly the best song on UM, after a few listens my personal take on this song is about SJ's frustration at narrow minded people not being accepting of other peoples social backgrounds- "Still if there's one thing I can't stand It's standing next to my fellow man" The song positively points out minority groups be it drugs, sexuality or race/origin- "For the social worker at the needle exchange For the soft medicated and the hard deranged For the lesbians at the bakery.. For the teenage mother with the baby asleep For Africa where life is cheap For losing faith in who you're going with" SJ is calling out for people to accept people as they are and being aware of their inner beauty- "When I see your face I want to be in the human race Stand up and let me get a look at you Can we all take a wider view.. You're beautiful it's true, I want to be beautiful like you" but then again i could be totally wrong! |
Third Eye Blind – Carnival Barker Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i really cant understand why they cut the final version on the album to 1:23 before the song could even get started, bad move SJ not impressed. |
The Killers – A Dustland Fairytale Lyrics | 15 years ago |
How is an artist being true to themselves if they are not reflecting on they're own life experiences? Afterall whether it be art, music or film isnt that the point? illustrating an emotion or event important to the artist? Anyone could sing a song accessible by everybody, it takes real talent to write something this inspired. |
The Faint – Forever Growing Centipedes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
couldnt have put it better spencerkll! |
The Faint – Forever Growing Centipedes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i gotta disagree with the theorys mentioned so far. Quite simply i think this song is about the endless possibilities that life presents us with and how every single action we take leads to an infinate amount of consquences, or metorphorically put; forever growing centipedes. |
Feeder – 8.18 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
absolutly amazing song, im getting a reminiscant series of thoughts about a past relationship of some sort, such an atmospheric song. |
Coldplay – Viva la Vida Lyrics | 16 years ago |
amazing song, gotta agree with the whole jesus/messiah thing. However i also think it's Chris describing how he wants to take a step back from the whole idolistic thing and not wanting to get wrapped up in all the fame that hes constantly surrounded in, he's saying he'd much rather be a normal guy making great honest music than to be 'king'. Oh and NYyankees STFU you prejediced bigoted pig, it's people like you that are the reason we even have wars in this world. |
Crystal Castles – Tell Me What to Swallow Lyrics | 16 years ago |
id have to agree with everyone else, looking at the lyrics and coupled with the name of the song theres a pretty chilling undertone to this song |
Digitalism – Pogo Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i think its important not to take this song so literrally, i doubt they wrote a song about the sun. My interpretation is description of a drunken night out, finding a connection with someone and wanting to have sex with them. This can be seen in the following lines; 'yeah, whoa-ho there's something in the air.' reffering to the connection with someone. 'We could get so wasted.' setting the scene of a drunken night out. 'cus i been dreaming we can be the fire for this night' wanting to have sex with this person. |
We Are Scientists – Chick Lit Lyrics | 16 years ago |
wow! definatly the highlight of the new album, i get the impression its aboutnot letting people walk all over you and take advantage of your good nature or something along those lines |
We Are Scientists – Let's See It Lyrics | 16 years ago |
really different sound for WAS, think its gunna take some gettin used to.. |
We Are Scientists – After Hours Lyrics | 16 years ago |
its basically taking the concept of a pub's opening hours and comparing it to the structure of a relationship, well impressed with this WAS! |
Alphabeat – Fascination Lyrics | 16 years ago |
so so cool! |
The Killers – My List Lyrics | 17 years ago |
oops *sams town |
The Killers – My List Lyrics | 17 years ago |
to rayne bhow, how on earth are you hearing "Don't give the ghost or just cut your wrist,"!?? think someone needs they're ears syringed gramps, of all the songs on hot fuss this and why do i keep counting are the ones that have been hardest for me to get into but this song has grown on me so much, the whole song along with the marching style drum-beat tells me its gota be something to do with going away t war and saying your goodbyes to your lover in a letter. |
The Killers – Read My Mind Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think you hit the nail on the head there sally, the whole song is about the sorta stuff you might see if you were looking into brandons mind; The good old days the honest man the restless heart the promised land a subtle kiss that no one sees a broken wrist and a picture piece now most of this stuff might seem like mumbo jumbo to you and not have any significant value but to brandon each is a memory of a moment suspended in time within his mind, well thats my take on it, great song. |
The Killers – Bling (Confession of a King) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

The Kooks – Time Awaits Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i love this song! it starts off all redneck and your like 'omgzz what the tramp is this?' and then BOOM it goes into a reggie funk style and its amazing not sure what its about though |
The Kooks – Got No Love Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i ain't got no love today, but i will get her back, this songs amazing from an amazing album, from an amazing band, about someone that realises that they have nobody that loves them giving them a feeling of vulnerability 'don't let them bring me down' |
The Killers – When You Were Young Lyrics | 18 years ago |
omg eff hot fuss this is the sound of the killers, im lovin this song sounds like theyv dropped the disco in exchange for old rock anthem style, it all works weally weally well. I get the feeling that it seems like hes refering to innocence when he says 'when you were young' and 'he doesnt look a thing like jesus' is making a connection to the saviour boyfriend described in the song as being jesus-like in character but not looks sent to save a girl from her past relationships? |
Third Eye Blind – God of Wine Lyrics | 18 years ago |
im listening to this song right now, and i m getting shivers down my spine, cos the lyrics are right even though i dont want them to be, its prom night tommorow and im going with the girl i love but im texting another girl and its just not the same as how it was and all our plans didnt plan out, this song hits me so hard right now its untrue..oh well thats life... And the siren's song that is your madness Holds a truth I can't erase All alone on your face Every glamorous sunrise Throws the planets out of line A star sign out of whack A fraudulent zodiac And there's a memory of a window Looking through, I see you Searching for something that I could never give you And there's someone who understands you, more than I do A sadness I can't erase All alone on your face. amazing |
Lostprophets – Broken Hearts, Torn Up Letters And The Story Of A Lonely Girl Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Keane – Is It Any Wonder? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
yes there are |
Keane – Is It Any Wonder? Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i dont like keane but when i heard this OMFG and i have to agree the lyric 'love is just a lyric in a children's rhyme' is just genious, its a perfect representation of those times when you just feel lost in life and realise some of the things you thought were right about you wernt, a feeling of loss and uncertainty and vulnerability its amazing. |
Third Eye Blind – Persephone Lyrics | 18 years ago |
cheers solace listening to it again id have to agree with you, what an amazing song id love to hear it live you lucky turd! new cd will be amaze. |
Underoath – Writing on the Walls Lyrics | 18 years ago |
it's.. ...to breach the gap of this constant state that we live in... |
Third Eye Blind – Persephone Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i know this is just a song that didnt make the Out of The Vein final cut but its amazing and i want the new album noooooooooooooooow. This song talks alot about the longing for spring/summer/sun/warmth maby its about somebody suffering from seasonal deppression and it seems he is calling out for the help of this one girl 'persephone' but it seems she wants something else and/or wont help him because she wants something else and he is left all alone by the time spring arrives 'i sit by myself, in the last light of the sun' |
Snow Patrol – You Could Be Happy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song gives me shivers its amazing, its so creepily beautiful and sad, definatley about a relationship that just wasnt to be *suddenly everything i own smells of you* that line is amazing its gunna haunt me one day |
From First to Last – The Crows Are Coming For Us Lyrics | 18 years ago |
nope pretty sure its let em live |
Underoath – Everyone Looks So Good From Here Lyrics | 18 years ago |
it sounds as if it is a story of someone who has died and finds he is surrounded by something that did not meet his expectations of afterlife and feels cheated for all the devotion he has shown to god for nothing. 'is this the end?' amazing |
Underoath – In Regards to Myself Lyrics | 18 years ago |
what this song seems to be saying to me is a warning to those who are getting too comfortable with their life on earth saying that this is just the begining and we shouldnt get too caught up in materialistic things such as moolah and so on as it will have no worth in heaven/our next life/hell |
Third Eye Blind – Faster Lyrics | 18 years ago |
shes lookin at sj in a 3eb pin-up methinks and she wants to sex him |
Third Eye Blind – Gorgeous Lyrics | 18 years ago |
amazing |
Idlewild – I Want a Warning Lyrics | 18 years ago |

From First to Last – The Crows Are Coming For Us Lyrics | 18 years ago |
just as 'the crows are hungry for us' kicks in if you listen uber hard you can hear someone chanting 'war, war, war, war,' this song is ace the 'you walk on water' bit had me thinking i was listening to a Korn track. |
Third Eye Blind – Eye Conqueror Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Mae – Runaway Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song sounds so much like a copeland song! |
Third Eye Blind – Faster Lyrics | 18 years ago |
get the feeling this song is about a relationship that has become so overriden with with sex that there is no relationship left, hes saying how he would expect all the little things like '[her] waiting there for me' that make relationships what they are but that all he's getting is sex sex sex. 'i'd wanna get off one time' kinda self explantatory :O and 'not for sale' is his way of saying; sorry but im not letting you sex craved lunatic abuse my body for any money i want a real relationship. this song is amazing. |
From First to Last – Waltz Moore Lyrics | 18 years ago |
something is being said in reverse at the end of this song by a woman, i cant make it out though? i think i can hear the word 'children' anyway its an ok song about how we have to change ourselves just to be accepted in the world these days and the effect it can have on people making them feel inadequate. |
From First to Last – Heroine Lyrics | 18 years ago |
from listening to a few songs i came to the conclusion that the album heroin is a concept album based around someones (sonney's?) mother, i guess this song proves it. Anyways the feeling i get from this song and most of the others from the album is that he feels as if the situation that he is in now (touring, away from home, songwriting) has left him with a weakened relationship with his mother, when he feels he needs her most. He feels that he has lost touch, lost himself and lost the bond with his mother he once had. The heroine is his mother. fftl could have made a carbon copy of dear diary.. and pulled it off and i got the feeling that was the way they were heading with the internet only release of failure by designer jeans but fftl have changed, matured and became the band they want to be. this song is amazing esp. outtro. |
Orson – No Tomorrow Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Third Eye Blind – Crystal Baller Lyrics | 18 years ago |

The Faint – Hypnotised Lyrics | 18 years ago |
i heard: But I'm giving up on all that FUSS I hope your microphone is OFF THAY'LL go WOAH. . . yeah, SHUT THE FUCK UP |
The Faint – Sealed Human Lyrics | 18 years ago |
love this song, if you listen carefully aftereach of the things said within the brackets you will hear 'the human arrives, sealed' song is basically about a crash that could have easily been avoided by taking the street and not the subway, obviously this appears on a much larger scale in real life, every day situations, all of our choices in life contribute to our future and therefore our death. |
Umbrellas – Reactionary Lyrics | 18 years ago |
wow i think this song is about coming to terms with, however we look at it we are trapped on this earth and knowing all our actions have consequences that we have to live with for the rest of our lives whether we like it or not. beautiful song. |
Imogen Heap – The Walk Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this song is so good perfectly illustrates the feelings you get but you know you shouldnt get when in a relationship and have feelings however small or big they be for other people. |
Funeral for a Friend – Recovery Lyrics | 19 years ago |
these lyrics are too mish mash and vague for me but if i had a gun held to my head i'd take the guess its about growing up and leaving your childhood behind and being scared of what you might become. The line 'Scared to open up these eyes See just what's inside' gives me the feeling of being frightened of what you might become. 'Promise me, You will not ever leave' gives me the feeling the person is pleading that his/her childhood never leaves him/her. The again the rest of the lyrics don't reeeeeally go with this but what the hey, one of best songs they've ever done. btw can anyone hear/make out what matt says after 'You will not ever leave' the first and last times? it's really really faint but i can just make out him saying something, sounds like 'again' but yeh toodles .xX |
