I think its kind of cynical really. It seems to bounce around though. "A symphony that's you" seems to me like a wonderful way of thinking of someone as a collection of music.
But then again, he seems to be having some kind of revelation during the chorus. So my conclusion is this: Love is abound and we don't really know much about it. It seems like Love is his demise.

I also thought of the Virgin Suicides when I first heard it.
I was originally attracted to the song because of the title, my name is Amy. Upon actually listening to it though, I feel like I've stumbled into a molestation case file or something. It gives me this nausea that is repulsive and intriguing at the same time. |

As for the song, its my favorite Interpol song. I suppose my interpretation is really wrong, but it speaks of a "he", so I'm hearing a girl dating one guy but this guy wants to be with her.
