Wow, it's so full of emotion.

great song, but pretty self- explanatory.

VAST – We Will Meet Again Lyrics 19 years ago
To me it sounds like someone that lost somebody close to them. That person has left them to go to a place where it never rains, where there isn't any pain. To me it sounds like they died. And through the song the person is convincing themself that they aren't alone after all, that they will see them again (heaven?); that even though their body is gone (" can't hear your voice") they know there's still something of them out there ("i feel your soul"). They decide not to be afraid, they will meet again, he's not alone.

VAST – Winter in My Heart Lyrics 19 years ago
I think he's singing about a relationship that has ended with a girl, who had played a lot of games with him and then finally left him for good. He's singing that he needs some warmth again because he was left feeling cold, and probably humiliated or something (i can't get any lower). He's trying to put himself back together, but it's hard.

VAST – Ecstasy Lyrics 19 years ago
Umm... what does it mean? Anybody? If you take it literally it seems to say that he's on ecstacy, and in love with a girl that makes him feel the same way the drug does. (and that he'll corrupt her)

Thrice – Blood Clots And Black Holes Lyrics 19 years ago
Wow, their songs are hard to interpret, which makes it great. At first I thought it was about drugs and problems, but in retrospect I have to agree that it is a metaphor, although heaven knows what exactly is meant. The line "To be at peace would be a sin" and "lift the veil, it's not medicine "
and "my heart fails, time and time again " and "it's not love" is what seems to sum it up for me.
Those lines suggest, at least to me, that modern society would go to great lengths to stay alive and fight death (drugs and blood transfusions again and again) because it is afraid of death (to be at peace). The doctors fight to keep you alive, using drastic measures, but they don't do it out of love. At some point , if you truly love someone, you'd love them enough to let them go. It seems to say that counter to popular sentiment, death may not be so bad after all. That at some point you have to let go and die in love (kind of letting go and going to heaven, or whatever one may believe in) , instead of clinging on to life at all costs. That there might be something bigger out there, some truth that science and medicine can't explain.

Maybe that isn't it's meaning at all, but I choose to hear that in the song, because in a sense that is what I'm hoping to hear. It can mean anything, really.

Death Cab for Cutie – Passenger Seat Lyrics 19 years ago
This is a wonderful song. It manages to convey so much feeling in the smallest amount of words possible, which makes it that much more striking. Something about this song haunts me (in a good way, of course) It reminds me of a whole range of experiences, but above all it reminds me of driving through the Karoo desert in South Africa. It's always a good sign when a song brings back some of your favorite memories.

VAST – Free Lyrics 19 years ago
Great song. Ha! I love the angry sound. It always makes me think of something or someone being liberated. I love listening to this song, just because it has a feeling of immense freedom after being held by I know not what. (a person perhaps? or maybe more something like society. It hardly matters, it's a great song.)

VAST – I Don't Have Anything Lyrics 19 years ago
Show me the places
Where I can forget your name

That strikes me everytime that I listen to this song. (and that is a LOT) This is simply a great song. Good music, great lyrics. It conveys a lot of emotion. But that is what I've come to expect from VAST, even though it is hard to put true emotion into each song, but somehow VAST manages. I'm never disappointed.

VAST – Flames Lyrics 19 years ago
This is one of the most sincere tributes to love. Not the everyday love song that calls anything love. This song talks about something that I think is worthy or truly being called love. The music is wonderful. I find it hard to believe that anybody can hear this song and feel nothing...

VAST – Desert Garden Lyrics 19 years ago
This is interesting... it strikes me as a protest to just living a life of mediocrity, and going along with the middle-class rat-race. Hmm.. it's sad. The song is quickly growing on me, and could become a favorite. (it takes me a while to absorb new songs)

VAST – Touched Lyrics 19 years ago
I first heard this song with my sister. (she and all her roommates are obsessed with vast, as am I) It hit me as a wonderfully sad but beautiful song, with such meaning. It is one of those songs that make you (or, at least me) want to turn it up, until it is shamefully loud, and just get lost in it. It's great. It's one of my all-time favorites.
