I also think that it is about feeling inferior. Although he offers something desirable, this particular person wants to have it all. It's almost as if Damien is saying if you don't chose me I will leave, and I'll deal on my own...but you won't decide so I have hope and I can't leave. |

This song is about everything people don't even want to think and much less say. Still those thoughts are beautiful because they are real and still confusing and exciting and natural. One of my fav. lines is "Loving is fine if you have plenty of time for walking on stilts at the edge of your mind." |

Well first thing is that the lyrics should read "you want a room like no one else." Not woman. This changes the song quite a bit. I think that perhaps yes the lyrics are to be taken somewhat literally, but in a different sense. I think that perhaps it's not speaking to anyone in particular, but that it is suppose to provoke you. Women are not "traditional" anymore. They are raw and open, and even if they aren't Damien is saying that this is what they are really thinking about. It's also about wanting someone and realizing that after being with them, they are not as exciting as they were in the initial infatuation. |
